These lazy ass, 2 short verses, no bridge, let the hook (try to) do all the work ass songs... Write a SONG
Carla's Song instrumentally (kind of) sounds like something Tycho would make. Not his best closer, but a nice and enjoyable tune nevertheless
āPaint By Numbersā was kind of originally track one I think where where the record started. I was just married to the idea of coming off the last record and coming back and the first thing I say being, āOh, what a gift it is to be an artist, but itās nothing to do with me.ā I think it felt like a pillar of something. I think, for me, some of my favorite moments of artists that I love is when I feel like Iām listening to them discover themselves.
Sounds like the label said "nah" lol
The first four songs were a nice start, then it got shaky. "Dance No More" and "Carla's Song" were cool too.
Forgot to add my thoughts on Aperture since it was my first time listening to it this morning with the album and that's a really great song. Not hearing the LCD Soundsystem comparisons though, feels more like a Thom Yorke or Apparat tune tbh

As much as I rock with Styles, he does have this issue of kind of stumbling in the middle portions of his albums before regaining footing towards the end

Which of his previous albums is your favorite?
Really wanted to like this but Iām getting the same excitement listening to this as I do listening to a new lil baby album
He went LCD Styles on "Are You Listening Yet?" lol, it's fun recognizing (what I think are) some influences. I'm digging it so far.
Me and my gf immediately noticed the sound of silver drums interpolation
Makes you want to feel like a TEENAGER
I think my expectations were maybe too high after reading his Murakami interview and believing Jamie xx might be involved
Was hoping for some sleek and hypnotic dance album that would be good for running but itās just pop
ts hotdog water
well that was not a very inspiring first listen at all
the best idea on here was season 2 weight loss and that didn't really go anywhere at all
a shame really, because as someone who laments harry's house as his worst album, at least that project's fault was its high highs and low lows
on first reaction, this failed to go anywhere at all. super meandering and lifeless from not only the production, but harry as a performer too. some of his least interesting vocals are to be found on this album.
