Yeah but I'm not on WB's board room, why would I care about the money in this?

As member of the audience I get to ask about the artistry behind it

They cut out 75% of the books in the original movies and people still wonder why this is happening

I'm down for more stories in that world, especially if it's something that picks up later in the timeline

But why are the goyim online so giddy at the fact they're getting sold stuff that was done a million times better some 20 years ago

O yea you can 100% have an opinion on the artistry. I’m just saying that this exists because it’s going to make a lot of money and likely break streaming records

Harry Potter is still a giant IP and WB was never going to just let it sit around without squeezing more money out of it

The thing is tho we have like 3-4 years minimum until we get to that point lol

Books 1-2 weren’t the issue on that and they’re not bringing this back annually

It's very cynical stuff there's no way around it

I want new stories

Yeah but for example we can get all of the Weasley's in season 1 where most weren't introduced in the first film. Just one of many examples. Loving that shot of Harry on the train with Ginny reflected in the window.

I mean its not like they could just start at book 3 or 4. Even if book 1 and 2 for the movies were pretty faithful there's still 5 more books that would make this adaptation worthwhile

The Fantastic Beasts films starting flopping

WB had to tap in to our nostalgia to bring hype back to the franchise

Fairs but then again Hogwarts Legacy was massive

Season 3 is really the one that has the most pressure on it imo. The 3rd film just has too much sauce

But this show is also their chance to improve on the mistakes that the movie series made. Like making a better adaptation of Goblet of Fire for example

Stuff like Cursed Child on broadway was a major hit too. That could easily expand that into a film series but I guess they’re afraid to recast adult characters since the original trio wouldn’t come back

I get this and I’m one of the people in the first few pages to say this was an opportunity to correct…but at the same time I’m having second thoughts if we need a potential 10+ year series of the same story just to say they adapted certain things better

Look at how bright and warm the old movie looks compared to the Game of Thrones HBO lighting they gave the new show

“My god it looks the same what a waste of time”

“Oh my god it looks different I don’t like this”

One of those beloved IPs where people were never gonna be happy.
