Turns out casual players care more about gameplay in a game then they do cosmetics.

They just need to introduce separate modes, which I'm sure they will do on launch day and tweak the progression system.

How do you unlock items? You just get it when you completed the challenges?

i think the players most disappointed with this game/this game's progression are the ones who play it all day lol

if u have s*** to do and then u end ur day with some quickplay, btb or ranked (and now fiesta) with the boys, there's not much to complain about tbh i'm lvl 22, the challenges are pretty easy for me tho

like, I enjoy the game, it's very fun, the most enjoyable Halo has been in years but I'm not gonna defend obviously anti consumer practices that don't benefit me at all, nor do they benefit anyone.

It costing $1000+ to unlock everything in game that would come packaged with every other Halo game is ludicrous, I have no idea how someone could rationalise that.

Making Halo f2p and locking things behind paywalls instead of selling you a complete game is the reason they get away with this doing this, not a reason that this should be defended.

Pretty much, you complete an event challenge and it unlocks an event level.

my main problem is the company can only move so fast and they just gave a statement. Its cool to pinpoint s*** constructively but the rage communities are raging per usual

You can check your challenges on the challenge page, there’s usually a second page. You have to complete regular challenges to move up ALL challenges into your “current challenges”

Does it suck ? Yes but should cosmetics be a reason to drop a game or go full rage mode ? Not really.

The progression system and lack of modes is what people should be focusing on, not cosmetics.
