Acknowledging YSL as a Gang sounds damning but I'm not gonna act like I know just how crazy the situation is.
He was being very selective with his wording making sure to keep "YSL the gang" and "YSL the label" as separate entities. Saying that he was unaware of the activities of YSL the gang and that his work was being used to further activity.
Could be something Gunna and Thug's lawyers have suggested, so they likely know what they're doing. However it still looks/sounds nasty, and I'm not entirely sure how this will fully absolve Thug of anything since I believe they have him as the ringleader of YSL the gang and YSL the label.
