The Weeknd is meant to be a way bigger artist than Gunna. He's meant to be outdoing him easily.

I did!
No one was interested bc it didnāt fit the narrative
Wait, single Take My Breath isnāt even on the album
you must be talking about Moth To A Flame
Which was a major flop according to KTT so it shouldnāt be changing much!
It doesn't matter that he dropped a different version of Take My Breath on the album. The version of the song that charted still counts as a top 10 single on the album and the units it moved count towards the album total now, especially seeing as he didn't rename the song and it still keeps most of it's original composition.
But congrats to Gunna. 95K in a second week is crazy. Only other rapper doing that right now is Drake.
And baby
Electric pop vs trap album with all the hot features
Megastar fresh off a big ass song + SB performance + a top selling critically acclaimed album vs residential YSL trap artist
Electric pop vs trap album with all the hot features
Where were these excuses when After Hours was doing it's numbers?
But congrats to Gunna. 95K in a second week is crazy. Only other rapper doing that right now is Drake.
Thereās probably about 6 that could do this
Megastar fresh off a big ass song + SB performance + a top selling critically acclaimed album vs residential YSL trap artist
The excuses in this thread are mind-blowing.
That 1 song has a Drake feature
if a single drake feature is enough to take out a whole weeknd album there's a problem
I did!

Gunna fans just obsess over sales and beating weeknd so they can delude themselves into thinking gunna isnāt generic and is actually a talented artist. When REALLY is very generic, picks S*** beats, and has forgettable lyrics.
this is bait
Baby hasn't dropped yet so we still have to wait and see.
My turn did 100k 2nd week and still doing 20k to this day so i feel comfortable including him even with different rules
Thereās probably about 6 that could do this
But only 2 have done so recently so those are the only 2 I'm counting for now.
if a single drake feature is enough to take out a whole weeknd album there's a problem
a terrible song, at that
if a single drake feature is enough to take out a whole weeknd album there's a problem
They said it with their whole chest, too, not recognizing the power they're assigning to Drake with that statement.
But only 2 have done so recently so those are the only 2 I'm counting for now.
Kanye and Cole mustāve done it
Where were these excuses when After Hours was doing it's numbers?
If Weeknd drops a After Hours type album we not having this conversation
My turn did 100k 2nd week and still doing 20k to this day so i feel comfortable including him even with different rules
Good point but gotta see how he does post-bundles. I believe he can do it again but I've gotta see how his new album does first.
The excuses in this thread are mind-blowing.
Weeknd's accolades will get brought up and gassed (rightfully so too, he's earned those feats 100%) to infinity.
But let a residential YSL artist who doesn't make "real music" drop the fourth installment of a mixtape-turned-album series and suddenly Abel was doomed from the start to fall behind on the charts when debuting.
Incredible.
Kanye and Cole mustāve done it
Cole did it but Kanye didn't.
Second week numbers:
If Weeknd drops a After Hours type album we not having this conversation
So you're saying there aren't pop songs that are clear attempts at radio hits on Dawn FM?

Like I've said before, they have all these dumb excuses now only because the album has underperformed/flopped for the Weeknd's standards. Wasn't so long ago they were treating him like the biggest artist in the world. Now, they have every excuse in the world for why a B-list rapper is outdoing him casually and comfortably.
