He does a good job for the most part, but the production brings it down for me, there are other styles aside from trap if they wanna experiment. Literally everything is trap and has been for years, one of the reasons griselda was so refreshing was that you could put on a griselda album and know you’re not gonna hear some generic ass high hats

but I get the critique. For instance, WMTSS is kinda a generic take on the Griselda street rap sound; it's kind of the end of that way of doing things. So after that, there's a choice to make. They could go in the Roc Marci lane and be even more left-field and dig deeper into the cult-following stuff, but that's clearly not what their ambitions are.

but I appreciate your point that they sort of went from generic Griselda-style production to generic mainstream beats. that's an interesting critique.

that said, I think PIM2 has some of the most exciting production of a GXFR project to date.

    This exactly

They ran their own sound into the ground

Then hopped on the most stale production possible

Branching out doesn’t mean hoping on generic ass trap beats though

    @Jerry_Seinfeld

Yea mon that new Conway joint didn't do it for me, I digged that 200 Pies tho. I hope he has more of that spacey/groovy production in the future.

gotta disagree with y'all. If they were still putting out 2018-2019 style projects we'd be saying we're tired of this. they're doing what they need to do. it doesn't always work, but at least they're branching out.

I think in part we're a little fatigued just because they've been putting out so many projects for so long, and the basic formula hasn't changed, despite some new production choices.

    evolve or die.

    exactly let them live smh

That Benny verse was better than any verse on his last project.

I’m noticing how Boldy is nowhere to be found on Conway or Benny’s projects. But let’s hit up Fat Joe and Ludacris for a verse smh

to be fair Conway and Benny prly grew up listening to cats like Joe and Luda...even if they aren't in their "prime" anymore if they have the opportunity to collaborate with them I understand it...can also argue they have bigger audiences than Boldy and could bring in new listeners...definitely would have liked to hear Boldy on here though still

I prefer the grimey stuff aswell but those last few projects were still pretty decent especially BOP and FKTG

Burden Of Proof is a top 3 album of 2020

Songs like Famous, One Way Flight, Burden Of Proof, War Paint or Thank God I Made It

I think it‘s his best project especially from the production standpoint

Not mad at that, it’s probably top 10 for me in the end. Very strong year for underground rap

I only f*** with the amazing 200 Pies, S.E. Gang and Bruiser Brody...most of the project is trap and i dont like Conway on trap, i want more Griselda-shit for him. Hope GDMM will be a f***ing Griselda project.
