I was worried about the absence of samples, but the beats are pretty good. This is probably the greatest debut album on Shady Records, even thoug that's not saying much
Much props to WSG

Was WWCD on shady? If so then that better

GRODT and Cheers exist anyway

I was counting that more as aftermath, but yeah I guess you’re right. And in that case it’s not even close. I’d take WWCD over cheers though
Man how you got Stove God & Estee Nack on the same track with that s***ty ass production, f*** sake
Not to knit-pick but why are y'all calling FIAAG 2, Flygod 2?
I was thinking the same thing lol
So apparently Beat Butcha made the composition that Alchemist cut from to make this album. Lazy, cheap s*** trying to get around sampling clearances. It's dumb, outdated thinking, and Shady really dropped the ball.
This is why West needs to lock into a room with Madlib, and come back with something much, much, much better - with their original sound.
I like this but this could easily be called flygod is an awesome god 3
P4P was so much better than both of these
is it just me or is it kinda sus how THIS was his 3RD ALBUM even though he clearly made it for a mixtape, shady didnt promote it at ALL it didnt get as much buzz as his 2 others and he repeats himself on it. Mayeb he wanted to just get the shady s*** out the way? not to mention doom song didnt even end up on it which is weird usually u would put smthn like that on the album
What makes you say that? Because it derailed some of his momentum after pray for paris ?
Not really, if it had been just as good or better than P4P it would've helped him actually. In a way, he could've replicated (and done a way better job of) what Brockhampton was doing with Saturation.
Instead he dropped a mixtape of C-sides with features and production value NOWHERE near the same level of P4P (I love Stove God but he's not a draw the way Tyler was for P4P). And way too skit heavy.

It wasnt that bad tho lol
There are some good tracks on here but it’s a big step backwards from P4P. Not even my favourite album that came out on the day

When I said this they said I was rushing to judgement.
You dont need to sit with an album for days to know it's not it.
Also, Shady couldn't even get a placement on the Hip-Hop New Music tab on spotify?? I'm pretty sure West got a placement there for FGIAAG2 and P4P..

Yeah you could tell from first listen it’s not one of his stronger projects. But I still enjoy it, it’s just more of a mixtape than an album, there’s just nothing big or bold about it, it feels like his most recycled work to me
Wes is leaving Shady and going full Roc Nation.
He used the exposure to shed more light on the label and get some mainstream.shine but idk if he ever intended to stick around longer then an album.
Shady hasnt really done much to elevate Griselda anyway. F*** em.
