Glad to see people are coming around, I saw a whole lot of people calling this kid this morning before I’d listened

I did think that on first listen but it’s grown on me, listened to it about 6 times so far and without the pointless skits and outros it’s solid. Not his best but I wouldn’t call it mid. Beat selection is on point and WSG is spitting, it’s just a bit of a weird feature selection and it feels a little incomplete but I think that’s what he was going for, more of that raw sound

I kept the interludes because they're pieces of music, and sorta flows with the album, but this project is still a scatterbrained mess. The outro is unnecessary and goes on for way too long. The features are questionable at best. And like you said, it feels incomplete, almost like a rough sketch. Flygod 2 sounds more like an EP / mixtape than an album. There's a difference between being unpolished and underdeveloped. This album is the latter.

I agree it doesn’t feel like an album. But I assumed it was more of a mixtape anyway. I just untick interludes in iTunes if they don’t add value, I also cut off the last track when rome spits his last bar. I know technically that’s not how he intended it, but yeah if you listen as intended it’s a bit of a mess compared to his other stuff. With some of the fat (interludes) trimmed it just flows nicer and feels less like that (at least to me). It’s not supposed to be a project on the level of PfP I think I saw someone say that he actually said it’s supposed to be rough and grimy and like the early HWH tapes. Like I said he has plenty of better projects but I’m personally happy with this. If he released this as his high profile album (like PfP) I probably wouldn’t be happy though

Yeah I agree. The interludes were fine letting Sadhu do his thing. But the skits and soundbites had almost to do with anything. That AA Rashid intros got old after FLYGOD and what a weird ending. FGIAAG ended with Lakers vs Rockets and we get this a stupid 3 minute soundbite

Saw people calling this mid. Just disrespectful, like how is 50% of of what the rap game is putting out better than this?
Might be an average WSG project but is nowhere near “mid” in the grand scheme of things.

Saturating the market, I get it.

But quality control.is key and at this point WSG has nothing to gain from a project like this but keeping his name on the blogs

Its grown on me but I feel it could've been on the level of the previous one had he taken a little more time and care.

Cooks spit better then 90% of the songs on his album. He needs to let Gunn exec prod his next joint. Boldy too.

Gunn is just lyrical enough to center an album like this but at this point I'm more interested in WSG the curator then the MC. Give these same beats to Boldy or Benny and it could be a classic.

For real. The bar WS has set for himself is insanely high to be fair, but this s*** is still dope. I've been pretty critical of PFP but it's still one of the AOTY

Stove God had by far the best verse on this s***, there was no way in hell he & WSG were not gonna be a hit together

  • The stove flicker before Cooks' verse

Yeah, was waiting for him to announce that they officially signed boldy, but then he signs Armani

I have a strong feeling that Benny and Conway don't want Westside curating their projects for whatever reason. It doesn't make logical sense to me. You can't not have a guy like Westside at your side then go do a tape with DJ Drama

Not as good as the first one but still pretty enjoyable. My favorite tracks so far are probably Lil Cease, Buffs vs. Wires & Drive by Love. I'm definitely not disappointed. I mean it was obvious that this wasn't going to be a PfP tier project.

The Armani Caesar feature was kinda fire. Im excited for her project, I hope it's over some grimy and soulful beats.

I do agree that if you ignore Westside standards it’s actually a dope listen. But to follow up pray for Paris with it to me still doesn’t sit right.
