Agree with this. His backstory of not really being a rapper provides context, but shouldn't provide an excuse from criticism.

Not dissing him he's one of my favourites and consistently makes the best new projects imo, but there is definitely room for improvement in his rapping haha.

Imagine if he could retain the sound he's got going now but start telling more cohesive narratives, would be magic.

I like fantano but it was clear hes not gonna give a decent enough overview of most modern underground hip-hop waves (Griselda, sLUms, Roc Marci, Mach-Hommy). he does a good job with artists who he managed to get on quicker than others (billy woods, quelle chris, milo, KA) but the hwg7 review goes to show how little nuance and how surface-level his research sometimes is, especially when making out benny and conway outrapping wsg to be some sort of revelation

I don't blame him because thats rules of the game and he can only do so much videos as one man in front of the camera but thats barely helping his case

idc what he rates the project them getting any light is a positive. he also said plugs was mid, so he cant be taken serious.
