I think the book they’re going for acts like a prequel introduction to the world type one so they’re going for that one first despite it being the 6th one. And then if Greta wants to continue, go onto lion witch and the wardrobe
I'd prefer her just skip straight to Horse and His Boy rather than re-adapt LWW. The 05 LWW movie is about as good an adaptation as you're gonna get imo.
DOOMSDAY
MAKE YOUR MOVE TO THANKSGIVING
Still have zero idea if this will be any good or not, but glad to see it have a wide theatrical release rather than just being in IMAX.
This is by far my favorite of the narnia books and I just know they re gonna fumble just like the previous movies did

The first two Narnia movies are really good though imo. And the third one isn't great but was still more or less a faithful adaptation.
I'm worried this one will take too many liberties to the point where it's no longer recognizable as Narnia. Streep as Aslan, them describing it as "rock music" and Mark Ronson doing the score, etc. just has me worried.
hoping for the best. never read the books but gerwig is making sum intresting changes that have vision
this getting a theatric release while the atla film gets shafted by paramount is a funny irony tho

From what I remember the first one was ok but I HATED prince caspian. Never finished dawn treader, probably my second favorite of the books but the movie just bored me that day for whatever reason
And wasn’t a big fan of them trying to turn the books into lord of the rings style war epics either, to me the old cartoon best shows what a narnia adaptation should be
I just know Gerwig is gonna flip a lot to get her feminist messages accross but there’s some things I pray stay intact, especially the portrayal of the witch she’s far more brutal in this one, the way she enslaved the uncle when she comes into the present was so peak, as was her eating the bleeding apple etc

Dawn Treader is weird because it's more of a TV show style (chapter by chapter is a different adventure) rather than a movie. So the overarching character stuff in the movie is done really well, but it just feels like it's meandering because it's short little things that have nothing to do with the overall story/quest.
Prince Caspian might surprise you if you go back to it, but it's been a long time since I've seen it so I might be giving it too much credit. It's not copying the first at all in a way that I think is really interesting for a children's story sequel to be.
This whole time, I thought she was doing The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe. Lowkey disappointing but still excited for whatever she’s doing. Sucks this is getting delayed but oh well. It’ll come out when it does

Why is it disappointing that she's doing a story no film has adapted/portrayed yet?
