A lot less people will be exposed to a tv show or niche Clayface vs a supergirl

Its not for sure lol because if you havent seen the content you would think I am joking when I am genuinely not. LOST especially LIndelof written episodes changed the genre of TV we were all tuned in. Then Lost fumbled the ending. I was like I dont know after fumbling the ending or telling people too much. Then leftovers teaser trailer dropped I doubted him.

Leftovers is one of the best tv shows of all time. Watchmen overall like LOSt tried to wrap up a bit too neat but still a good run as well. That is getting hours upon hours of content right.

Nah you can be wholesome like Superman animated series without being dark per se. There were even dark moments in Superman with death of falafel guy. War itself and other elements. I just didnt love the execution or putting it all together as much as most. Especially some sort of " here goes a moment laugh " "here goes a clap moment" with pauses like mcu does vs how much more natural a show often feels because its budget and its desire for a return

I put dark in quotes for a reason.

It's all in the presentation.

The music. The costume. The color grading. It all creates an atmosphere for the story to exists within. It's just about how dramatically, and straight up, you approach the material & the natural consequences of the plot.

So with that in mind, the character is whatever the story requires them to be. Many comic book people cannot even engage with the story (the most important part) because they're too stuck on what the character "should be".

Just my two cents...

There's ofc a middle ground here between not giving Gunn no credit for good projects vs he takes all the blame when projects are bad lol
