Are you the ktt police ? You have told people to stop talking in threads of things you like . When they are on topic . I’m not even invalidating your opinion . I’ve said they would be better off not giving fans so much in episode 5 in action and effects and splitting it up .

But I also don’t think a tv show or movie can’t have an action climax and falling action of hitting the drams points and resolving them . I think how it resolved its drams was unsatisfying but not boring . If someone thinks it’s boring that’s fine but there was nothing more boring about episode 8 vs an episode 1 besides us being new to the world

I had similar issues with watchmen and lost finales . Trying to wrap up things so fast while also setting things up

Leftovers finale was perfect but to some could be considered “ boring “ or “ why didn’t they show _”

Mystery box shows aren’t for everyone but this shows fault isn’t the mystery box wrapping isn’t pretty enough or not enough comic elements it’s that the mystery is only so good when the character that died has a hologram helping you solve the mystery vs John doing it . And we already talking about reviving him . As well as his reason for going to prison being away from main characters and the plot . With no real plot given of how he developed or changed in prison . Resolving conflict with his family off screen .

A lot of the dramatic elements they built up if a drama show seemed like after thoughts in the end and those that came for action or spectacle got more than I ever thought they would . Even then wanted more . There is no way to satiate people like that .

Most people on Twitter are discussing the story with a small vocal minority complaining about wanting special fx lol . The lazy exposition and the ham fisted approach to race . Week to week people aren’t talking about “ where the constructs I need more constructs “ and I’ve been in this thread weekly

No one is pitting drama vs action or special effects . Both can exist in many stories but it has to fit for the given story . Action can and has been used great in storytelling I’ve mentioned other shows. One of my top movies of the year is furious . 28 years later none temple made the drama deal with infected while using action effectively at climax .

I think in this show seeing his idea of justice shift and how he wants to operate outside the lanterns is great character development that fully justifies the 8 hours

Idk much about Green Lantern lore - is this rogue Lantern thing for John something that makes sense from the canon?

I’m ready to get flamed but things I didn’t like in the finale:

    1. Absolutely zero Green Lantern stuff
    2. Hal is actually dead? Sinestro’s comments maybe say otherwise, but he seems dead af right now
    3. What was the point of the blonde chick?

I mean a Lantern can go rogue sure, but they were actually part of the GL Corps to begin with before disobeying orders or doing other stuff. John here isn't. He's just designating himself as a contractor, and never made a GL vow.

    1. I agree. In fact we never saw a construct again since Ep 5 battle (also highest rated episode)
    2. The Hal who mentored John is 100% dead. Sinestro was appealing to the 2006 saved copy that is seemingly gone too. Feel like there's a slight chance it still exists idk
    3. Who knows. Kinda odd opportunity not to just aid the city

Yall can say no constructs but you can’t say no green lantern things when all your other questions pertain to green lantern lore

Was it a mistake to put that much action in the 5th episode when the fanbase is like this ? Probably but for many of us the 5th episode wasn’t the best episode

This show had people wanting to hate it before watching for things outside of its control similiar to resident evil

Started with “ not enough green “

When the show clearly didn’t have green in the title for a reason

“ why not in space “

    Another clear reason.

“ why you have them both standing in the ring and say only one can wear the ring “

Which was so clear of a reason I guessed it

People went into this not wanting to like it then they found themselves liking or loving it . I don’t even understand thinking the show would ramp up or continue to have a lot of constrict use after the destruction in episode 5 and the clear guilt he has about it . 2026 John even when we saw him in other episodes was any using his powers at all . He throughout the entire show doesn’t use his powers out in the open or randomly . If you know the person who did is dead and in prison for the final 3 episodes partially due to using his powers too much even if for a good cause why writing wise would it make sense for John to do the same ?

The only potential fight would be Sinestro or guy Gardner for conclusion and both would make more sense in man of tomorrow or his own solo movie

What did you even want him to use constructs to do when hologram Hal is the construct budget lol

Kinda wonder what the discourse would be like if they kept the original episode order. Episode 5 was going to be Episode 7

I think the order was fine as is but with how people are b****ing and calling the final 3 boring ? I think they over estimated the attention span of their viewers and in some ways their intelligence

Yeah I like the order as is. Would been a lil more confusing if they jump back and forth 2016 and 2026 like that. But at least people would have their action sequence in the last 2 episodes people wanted

After watching the episode I expected discussion of the poor writing decisions not “ where the constructs climatic battle this was boring “

If anything many moments felt rushed and undercooked . I don’t think a episode with a child robot asking for a mercy killing needed spectacle and I think if it added the spectacle many want it would be a disservice to the emotional moments throughout the episode

I think the killing and mystery if who did it missed in execution. Think family reunion missed

Think his final moments with Hal delivered their friendship is the point of the show and people begging for him to be revived and as much as I dislike reviving people and not coping with death I get it

It’s kind of sad that it’s gotten like this worse is it’s gotten where they feel attacked so they say they feel judged . Episode 5 highest rated on IMDb yes but because it delivers a great deal of fan service . No one judges people for loving episode 5 while at the same time it’s like YOU ATE . You ate you’ve been fed why are you hungry for more like you weren’t just fed ? Logically there is no reason to amp up the action or randomly use constructs when we know the ring has a charge . Even if he delivered the black mail money with the ring . We saw him fly to his family house with ring . We saw him mercy killing with the ring that’s not going to change the actual issues with episode for people so I don’t get it

People wanted more spectacle from a green lantern show split up between the entire season rather than in an episode which is a fine opinion to have but the rest is intellectually dishonest

    @YANDHI I @Oblivion99 Thank you

Again rogue Green Lantern has to be stopped at some point, right? Assuming John joins the corps later because unless he is super OP, wouldn’t the other Lanterns just gang up on him and take him down?

Hal being dead is so trash. Kyle Chandler was awesome and killing off a character like this so early seems wasteful.

With fans attention spans and no guarantee a second season gets green lit I get it . I feel some of the hamfisted beginning things could have been shown more than told . World building started off stronger than it ended

Yeah I would assume they're thinking of a s2 where the GL corps hunts him down especially with what Guy said about them sending an army after John.

Kyle Chandler as Hal was great casting honestly hope we see more of him

Honestly I think it would’ve worked a little better that way. The 2016 mystery could’ve been stretched out and the first season ends with the attack in Rushville, then Season 2 is all about the 2026 “Who Killed Hal?” mystery with John returning to the town to investigate it. The way they chose to do it is why I think the latter portion ended up feeling a little rushed and underwritten
