For me it was the perfect way for him to become a lantern. Him becoming just another lantern goes against his whole arc of questioning authority so having him exist outside the organization as himself was the only logical progression of his character.
He started the show off being a boy scout who obeys the chain of the command (whether that be his parents or the military or the guardians) to now living life on his own terms
He's been an independent lantern in some runs before so its not unprecedented
But genuinely I was tired watching some of these episodes what did the guardians do that was that abhorrent. I need to rewatch half the season because I would watch this after work and be tired or after seeing movies .
I like John’s backstory but just wish Hal didn’t die. Need at least the hologram man.
Hologram , flashbacks and ghost defeats the purpose of a character dying and doesn't properly address grief when over used
cause tweet embeds sometimes glitches and tweets can be deleted just posting it here so I dont have to switch between
The biggest issues of the show to me wasnt a lot of what is on that graphic. Fan service or jingling keys. Its the writing even separate from all that had many miss moments throughout the entire series. Hamfisted exposition. Not feeling weight or stakes personally.

The guardians created the manhunters in the first place who went off to genocide civilizations
The guardians also tried to manipulate John to take the ring from hal by force instead of them just doing it.

they created the manhunters and the manhunters with their free will went rogue but he too is going rogue and they gave him power lol
He saved Hal and put the guardians in their place. Figured out who killed Hal. Went to a whole different planet and found Sinestro there. Tried to make things right with his mom despite the s*** way she treated him and that girl whose life they ruined. Feel like saying he didn’t do s*** is a bit much.
im exaggerating for comedic purposes but I also feel like overall I don't really see him as HERO ready yet.
“Potential show” and it’s just people crying about stuff they wanted it to be. With this logic this could be any show.
i'm not going to complain about a show not doing what I wanted it to do. I'm going to judge by what it is actually trying to accomplish.
it's not trying to be a space adventure show.
im exaggerating for comedic purposes but I also feel like overall I don't really see him as HERO ready yet.
I dont think he is a Hero yet to that degree

I mean I guess I get that since technically he really only accepted it at the end of the show. Hopefully man of tomorrow has him do a bit more

He's going rouge because the guardians clearly dont have the best decision making
John giving that white lady a bag of money doesn’t sit right with me. Classic CIA.
that s*** just don't make sense to me.
but i guess it's trying to show that he is honorable and he feels bad for what happened to the town and is trying to make it right.
but also damn, he really just got $300k just like dat.

Him linking up with his hip hop siblings at the end was too clean
He's going rouge because the guardians clearly dont have the best decision making
but he who lets a killer and tortures does? I mean at least he hasnt killed a human being yet outside of war but I dont think I would be shocked if he did
Him linking up with his hip hop siblings at the end was too clean
"GET OVER HERE BLACK MIXTAPE CREATING BROTHER AND ABUSIVE MOM "
Him linking up with his hip hop siblings at the end was too clean
That was straight out of NBA2K story mode lmao
it’s the potential show because all the things I made up in my head that this show should do didn’t happen and I didn’t get my exact way
