like i said nightwing is gonna be supermans age s*** is weird
Yeah
Honestly, Gunn should've forced Pattinson to be in the DCU because the ages of all of these heroes is starting to throw me the f*** off
But we’re talking Hal Jordan being around for 30 years
Like if it was Alan Scott and we’re talking like the JSA with Jay Garrick, Dr. Fate, etc. were around back then that works for me. But typically Hal has always been portrayed as a contemporary to Clark, Barry, and Bruce. Diana is basically immortal and Jo’nn is a Martian.
But Clark, Hal, Barry, and Bruce have kind of always been the same ish age with Barry maybe being a little younger. We’re already getting an older Batman here anyway so why do the same with Hal?
Tbh I’m more invested in what this older Hal has to say about where they taking this franchise.
I always prefer something that isn’t comic accurate and is actually a good film/show rather than some comic accurate slop.
I hope they cast someone in their 40s cuz then it can be 10 years in the corps and it can make sense.
The decision to make Hal older feels like a creative decision which dictates the story, especially since the last person cast was a younger Ryan Reynolds. This doesn’t feel like a safe studio choice.
I’m John’s first issue. Guy Gardner gets in an accident and Hal is forced to look for a successor. The watchers lead him to John.
Have a feeling this might be replicated in the show especially since we getting Guy in Superman.

I'm fine with needing to learn the context of a character.
Geoff johns' run was my first encounter with GL and it didn't matter to me at all that I didn't have a great grasp on who boodika or whatever was
To be fair… ain’t it always been that way with like JSA and stuff
I see your point here, but I think mixing contexts from various points in comics to make a cinematic universe is playing with fire.
It's like in Batman V. Superman where they fumbled the DKR version of batman.
no one cared they were fighting because they had no prior relationship to each other. The only reason DKR even works is because it's different than the pre-established continuity

Basically I just hope James Gunn doesn't f*** this up. He makes great movies and I think he actually gets the motivations of the dc universe and why it all works. I just hope he doesn't intellectualize to the point where it starts working against him
Wait but that isn’t the rebel ridge man!

bvs a classic bro ur smokin rocks
End of the f***ing world was a great show, so this has me excited. It was also really weird so that + lindelof has me excited about the psychedelia this show could offer.
Kelvin Harrison Jr is my favourite under 35 actor working today, he is not a good fit for John though
Holyyy. Good get.
If you’re wondering what Sean Durkin has been cooking after “The Iron Claw,” he’s supposedly in talks to board HBO’s “Lanterns,” and will be directing a “handful” of episodes for the limited series.
