Yeah I mean there's been crazier things happen, maybe they were giving him lines.

Album credits are tricky tho, maybe those people inspired him or gave him words of wisdom when working on the album, and gave them a credit on the success story song

Idk, and honestly don't care lol

I suspect it’s basically just help with melody and hooks
Damn was a major step up in that regard and Daveon Jackson wrote on Gods Plan and s***

But that’s basically what I mean
Every major artist gets this help to an extent it just varies with how much they get/use

I can’t really tell but doesn’t this OZ version not say the exact same lines as drake? Sounds more like a flow and melody reference that drake tightened.

Yeah some of the words are different. Drake probably changed them to his liking. He did the same with some of the Quentine verses.

This 'reference track' is literally just the singy singy chorus on loop. Everyone is aware like all rappers usually have the singing choruses with vocals written by producers/songwriters?

It's not like the actual verses were referenced or something.

This is like if the 'loyalty loyalty loyalty' chorus was referenced. It doesn't mean Kendrick didn't write his actual verses.

    Yea I know lol

Damn this is one of my favorite Drake songs in a while. Kinda disappointed he didn’t write it tbh.

The hook definitely OZ but that last psychopath verse was definitely Drake. Also Greece outro >>> Diamonds dancing outro

    I AM LOVE

Y’all need to understand and accept something.

All your favorite artists use writers once they reach a certain level of success.

Each and every single one of them.

When you’re one of the biggest artists in the world, of course you’re gonna want use the absolute best songwriters and music makers available to provide the best quality music.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is how the music sounds.

Nobody in the club’s gonna be like “Lol I’m not gonna vibe to this one cause the artist used a ghostwriter”

Your favorite artists’ biggest songs were most likely not written by them. And that’s perfectly fine.

They already proved themselves earlier in their careers. Now they get others to do the work for them. Win-win-win for the artist, writer, and listener.

    Capitalism

exactly at the end of the day the most lyrical rappers who write all their verses aren't responsible for the song in totality.
there are producers who make the beat and even come up with the melody and hook.

honestly idc much if someone helped/wrote greece or in my feelings or any of the pop singles since in pop its normal to do it and pop songs are usually some hardest songs to write

if i found someone wrote 5am in Toronto or draft day then thats something

i agree with @safe that most rappers are mostly likely getting help writing hooks since they aren't singers (probs good thing tho, huge weakness of rappers usually their hook game is weak which make the song not listenable)

i am sure when you first start writing hip hop tracks the part you focus on is the verses not the hook

Someone should find a kendrick instrumental, record themselves rapping the album verse and leak it as a reference track
