I’m in the middle of playing it the first time now... It is what it is. This isn’t an absolute top-tier game, but it’s very good.

So far it's just been slightly above average to me
It just feels like the essence of a "videogame" if that make any sense
Very cliche for everything

That’s pretty much every open world game tbh.
It’s a played out genre that’s been reduced to a science.
I still think GOT has been more than “just above average” personally, though. It’s a sum of all it’s parts, and while that isn’t enough to push it into “classic” territory for me, it is a very well made game.
Great graphics, audio, voice acting, super tight gameplay and combat. Just kind of let down by being a by-the-numbers open world game.

the combat has been fun but way too f***ing easy, and the open world feels like a chore a lot, especially when a lot of the collectible s*** isn't for actual functionality
the skill trees seem kinda lazily done and I think they should have incorporated more mythical moves
maybe im just comparing everything in this game too much time Sekiro, shouldn't have played them alongside each other

I find it more comparable to Horizon but it’s a lot better. I dropped Horizon after a few days but it looks like I might actually finish Tsushima at least
This game seems to be the opposite of a grower
From what I’ve seen everyone who played this months after release hasn’t enjoyed it as much as we did when it first dropped
Maybe it was because gaming was at a bad point when it came out, that I found this game to be amazing
I’m currently on NG+ and it’s way too easy still. And I’m just not really invested in it anymore. Maybe it’s because I’ve played Legends too much though, idk
Still looking forward to what the future might bring us though. There’s a lot of potential and if they take their time on a new game and polish it I could seriously see it being a masterpiece

I shouldn’t have told you to finish Sekiro before this, I think you should’ve done it the other way around
GOT imo plays very similar to God Of War 4. It’s very cinematic and focuses a lot on aesthetics, at times it feels like a playable movie to me. This game is more so about the experience whilst playing it, than anything else. If you really dive into the world and let the wind guide you, it can be a lot of fun imo.
Sekiro on the other hand focuses purely on combat and plays more like a “regular” game. And it’s a lot more difficult so actually finishing it feels like an achievement, so I can definitely see why someone would prefer it. I’m also a fan of more linear storylines instead of open world.
At the end of the day I like both games for what they are, but it’s clear they’ve taken different approaches to it and are not really comparable. It all comes down to just preference.
I hope you still enjoy your first playthrough though

yeah Horizon was too boring
this has some redeemable qualities though
ok s*** just got REAL
first risk/non-cliche thing this game has done storywise
lmao my jaw dropped irl
Playing this with liquid swords in the background. Insane
What are some other good albums for this game?
So glad I returned cyberpunk for this tbh

I just got it and I'm in f***in love. Don't play a lot of games though. Only played smash, ac, and botw this year
I also think it's still real hard combat 12 hours in or so but im bad tbh

Everyone I know really loved Tsushima
Pretty sure that dude overplayed the multiplayer until it got stale and then blamed the game, it was really just some free dlc lol so I don’t even take it into account when discussing why Tsushima is a masterpiece
I beat it in July and then took a break until December to start my next play through so it feels fresh tbh

I haven't even tried multi-player
S***s the most fun I've had in a game in ages
57 hours in on Act 3, honestly I think I might be nearing the end of the story missions, but idk if I'm gonna finish the game
Still have a few of the "main" side quests left. Fully liberated the first 2/3 of the island. I already know myself and I wouldn't be surprised if I just never play again
Was a pretty good while it lasted and kept me entertained way longer than I expected
Yarikawa mission blew me away
Loving Jin's progression
missions like those are when the game is at it's best BY FAR
I really enjoyed the few times there was some sort of all out war scenario with chaos everywhere

exactly, it pulls it off so well
those sequences genuinely impress me and i actually understand the hype
others are kinda underwhelming in comparison to those
still fun tho

Just finished this
Good game despite its lows
The highs were when it was actually emotional, that was when it was at its very best
