thats more borderline but its literally undeniable that the beatles were a rock band. i dont really call pet sounds a full fledged rock album but beach boys still generally a rock band with a lot of their stuff

beatles later stuff shows a lot of directions of rock that followed while a lot of the early stuff was basically as pure rock&roll as you can get when they covered chuck berry, buddy holly, little richard. also pretty much established the form of an archtypal "rock band" as we really know it with the 2 guitars+drums+bass guitar combo. if beatles werent a rock band then there is no such thing as a rock band

and ofc artists can be multiple genres at the same time, basically all of beatles music falls under both rock and pop
