‘The gay factor’ doesn’t drive sales.. it brings initial attention/buzz around his videos. The songs themselves become hits once ppl listen and realize it’s fire and they naturally connect.. if that wasn’t the case, singles like Montero and Industry Baby would be dropping out the top 20 charts after a week or two instead of remaining #1 on streaming for months at a time (ala Montero) and peaking at #1 on radio 3 months after release. He ain no 69..
I mean he makes these videos very gay-centric for a reason lol. It doesn’t matter but if he was jus making normal vids he wouldn’t be as popular. One could say he’s jus doin what other female artists have been doin for years but i mean those girls do the same thing: make eye-catching videos to get views
