3 years later this rapper drops an another single, sidenote I saw this movie The Professional and this song played at the end by Sting & The Police, I said to myself, whatever rapper makes a song to that beat is gonna be my fave rapper…2Pac was my fave but he made me mad with the eastcoast/westcoast s*** so I was lookin’ for a new main rapper to listen to, so anyway I’m at my homies house,with the whole crew about 6 to 7 of us and everybody had on they walkman some sharin’ headsets to listen to this album by this rapper at the time. I had no walkman, everyone was listening to their headsets except me, I was watchin’ “The Box” and this rapper whose name I couldnt pronounce cones on the screen with the Sting sample in the back!

I jumped off the couch and said that’s the song! That’s my nee favorite rapper now! I got his name right on how to pronounce it, I would go on to listen to this Artist 12 years straight before I would give other rappers a chance, he’s just that much better than everyone! Shout out to you Marcus for puttin’ me onto Nas! Marcus carried the illmatic single with him everywhere, the homies were all listening to “It Was Written” at the time, 12-15 year olds music acumen during the 90’s was impressive, it took me awhile to understand why everybody eas crazy about illmatic, so I listened at 15 and understood what it was about! Represent, Represent!
