I liked the movie but some of the graphics were pretty trashy, kinda made me like the movie more though

Refreshing when it’s clearly not trying to look hyper realistic like most action movies
I don't even care that this flopped. I care that the people who saw it think the point is for the story to flawlessly connect to Fury Road. It's such annoying nitpicking.
The movie carries like all of the thematic weight between the two. It's so much more significant. Fury Road is the f***ing part 6 Coda. And that's fine. It rocks. They're different! You can talk about Furiosa without mentioning Fury Road!
people who use box office numbers as a metric of how good a movie is are useless
Citizen Kane is considered to be one of the landmarks of cinema but essentially made no money back. same thing for It's A Womderful Life

It's okay to be worried that Furiosa made no money and Deadpool vs Wolverine made a lot. Cinema is in crisis and all the money has been concentrated into lumbering IP catering to the lowest common denominator.
It's just not all that matters of course. Just like how plot incongruity isn't the only way to evaluate a movie.

i mean this isn't exactly a new phenomenon. for example, this was what the top 10 grossing films of 2014 looked like:

Hell, this is what the top 10 looked like in 2010:

studios have been catering towards the general public with IP-driven films. everyone s***s on the studios for this (and they definitely deserve to get s*** on) but the public also deserves its fair share of blame, since they are the ones who will continuously show up in droves to what IP slop has been thrown on the screen. hell, it's honestly a bit of a surprise that Furiosa was even green-lit since Fury Road was a bit of a bomb.

DC is rebooting. Marvel dropped one movie this year- and is also rebooting. Star Wars is on hiatus from movies.
Showing me pre-COVID pre-streaming bubble numbers doesn't really get to the heart of the matter. Paramount just got sold off.
This isn't complaining about original films. Furiosa is an IP prequel.
how didnt immorten joe's crew realize she was the pure-life that escaped when she became a pretorian?

yea I thought this was okay. Movie is very long but still feels like it skips scenes. Prologue is almost an hour long, then once she’s grown, a lot of her character development happens offscreen. It’s a secret that she’s a girl for years and then suddenly it just doesn’t matter anymore and no one cares. Out of nowhere she’s a respected Praetorian under Immortan Joe. Idk I was kinda baked when I watched this so maybe I missed stuff but this didn’t land with me the way I wanted it to.

wasnt anything make or break for me
just would seem they should have cared a lot more about a pure-life escaping then they did

It gave it a bit of surrealism almost like watching a cartoon like Speed Racer. Need Batman to dip into that

Reeves doesn't have it in him.
hour and a half in and I'm so lost
