That total runtime didn't feel too bloated as much on my third viewing.
S*** is bonkers
Never seen the Mel Gibson-starring films and I don’t that’s ever gonna change
Mad Max pre-Fury Road doesn’t exist to me.. same way how The Dark Knight Rises and all the Alien movies after the original one don’t exist
I’ll still be seated at a theatre to watch Romulus though
Why are you proud of this
you're gonna feel like a very big dumb ass when you finally see Mad Max 2

The effectiveness of these movies can hardly be traced back to Mel Gibson tbf lol

It starts with his origin story. Not really a man with no name

Yeah and they called Clints character Blondie in TGTBATU but he was still The Man With No Name. It's a metaphysical archetype not a literal thing.

That was the conclusion. You might learn more about a man with no name by the end of a story. Shane for instance. But the first Mad Max is simply not. You watch him become Mad Max. That's an origin story.
He goes on man with no name journeys after, but that's not what they are to the audience. Only because George Miller anthologizes really. He doesn't hold continuity sacred.

That’s why I don’t understand why people give a s*** whether or not The Wasteland is a “prequel”.
There’s a 95% chance that it’d just be a self-contained Mad Max adventure, the same as if it were a sequel.

True enough
everything about MM2 felt different than MM1 though, including the mythology of Max

We don’t get enough anthology adventure franchises nowadays. Everyone’s always looking for continuity or connective tissue
Even Indiana Jones after the 3rd became focused on continuity and bringing back old characters instead of new adventures in a new location with new people

I can’t believe you haven’t deleted this bullshit post yet
Mel as Mad Max quite literally could not be more iconic of an action star
