One thing I like about Dementus character is he didn’t want to hurt Furiosa when she was a kid. He saw himself as a “protector”, genuinely wanted to have a daughter. But to him, having a daughter is like having a pet.

I interpreted it as george miller putting a spin on the whole cycle of violence thing. The movie starts with her reaching for a grape and ends with her taking it and giving it to the mothers from a tree grown from the representation of the corpses of the desert.

So while Furiosa might never get her chance back of enjoying the grapes of the fruit having lost her childhood, she completed one iterarion of the cycle of violence in the hope that the next children will get to enjoy it

I think its a great prequel because it makes fury road so much more satisfying. Furiosa alone was pretty dark.

As I write this I remembered Dementus reaching for Furiosas knife and it turns out to be a dud and saying "it wasnt hope it was instinct"

george miller might make it when he is 90 lol fury road flopped also so there is still a chance

he was actually pretty “cool” with her (((besides killing her mom))) all things considered. Seemed like he stopped pressing her about the “place of abundance” and rather have Furiousa fill in the void of his lost kids. If anything Dementus is what Max would of become if he completely went off the deep end after losing his family

Damn so Miller never had plans on doing a fury road sequel? Everyone keeps reporting Wasteland as a prequel.

He’s a very complex character for sure. to be fair he killed the mom because the mom was about to kill them, with obvious justified reasons. It wasn’t a personal vendetta against the mom which makes the dynamic that much more interesting

At this point if Miller does do another, would yall prefer a fury road sequel or the year prior prequel of Mad Max?
