But you can acknowledge that movie goers without the star power , viral memes they crave aren’t going . As sad as it is

Mad Max is just too weird and specific a franchise to get a ton of box office love from people who don't LOVE the cinema. Fury Road didn't do super great and now this one's a prequel, without the same cast, in a post-covid environment. It was never gonna make its money back in theaters.

I thought the movie was great. Although I think the first hour was the best part. Idk if that’s just me lol.

Anyways I think it’s worse than fury road (high bar) but this is a really entertaining good movie

Dune 2 was literally a couple months ago.

Truth of the matter is, Mad Max is not a huge franchise and this a prequel to a film that in and of itself was also kind of a flop.

Plus general reception towards the trailers was a little mixed, the aesthetic of which I could see not geling with some people because it’s SO stylized.

So rewatch after?
