Movie was super fire. Def the best of the year so far. Never been a huge Fury Road guy (I like it but it's just not that crazy to me) but I actually loved this.
I don't even like action involving cars like that but this movie had some great sequences.
Chris Hemsworth def gave the best performance I'd say. Would have liked if they somehow made him seem like a bad guy without the prosthetic nose.

Ending was super satisfying as well.

Only negative would be the pacing around the 4th chapter I'd say, feel like they could have tightened it up a bit.

Seen people talk about it a lot, VFX was a bit wonky multiple points in the movie (specially in the first half) if you really focus on it, only place where it was quite noticeable was during one of the coolest scenes in the movie (in chapter 3 I think) and it ultimately didn't bother me that much, due to just how good the scene was.

    Better than Dune?

I’m basing it off the trailers. I’m sure it will be good and a worthy prequel but the cgi was throwing me off. Imma watch it this weekend

ok fasho report back bro. the parts that looked bad in the trailer… not so bad in the movie. it’s other sequences tho fsfs. enjoy it though mane

    Better than Dune?

CGI wise Dune takes the cake easily

  • May 24, 2024

Furiosa f***ing rips man. Just a film filled with really great action set pieces with a classic revenge tale in the backdrop. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth shine in their roles. Hemsworth is so good in this that I want to see him play more eccentric villains and Anya is a star man. Nuff said. Visually, this movie is great for the most part. A couple of CG shots here and there were wonky but it’s few. Also, the camera work is incredible.

This film fits into the pantheon of the Mad Max films really well and I would love to see another Furiosa film if it works.

when the cloth covering her hair comes off and she fights the mortifiers chasing their war rig, I think the CGI got pretty bad during that sequence

If you're an action fan, Furiosa definitely is. Personally the whole package of Dune 1+2 is better but I'm taking Furiosa over 2 individually.

I think most people in general will like Dune over it though as that's a more polished movie.

I personally liked the world and ofc the action of Furiosa more.

Can someone explain how she tore her arm off and escaped? Wasn't she surrounded by Dementus's crew?

ehh lots of sand being blown and his crew are a bunch of dumb goons . i don’t care to get this precise about movie logic but thas me

This was very average to me. Tuned out multiple times, too long. Wasn’t bad, just wasn’t that good either.

I loved this and outside of one specific setpiece early in the film I thought it looked really good, the hyperdigital effect of everything looked great to me. Very very comic book and the movie is filled with striking shots.

Oh yeah it did look like a video game cutscene at times lmao, I get what you're talking about with that hanging truck now @guetfa

But I thought the video game s*** was a stylistic choice, even if it wasn't, it didn't bother me much.

The official, objective, and undebatable mad max rankings:

    1. Furiosa
    2. Road Warrior
    3. Fury Road
    4. Mad Max
    5. Thunderdome

Went into this thinking another ass prequel but I was wrong. Anna nailed the role and so did Chris. Movie is Goated can’t wait to see where they take the franchise next.

Need George to start shooting The Wasteland expeditiously, he ain't getting any younger

    i loved it

good addition to the mad max saga i don’t think it’s better than fury road though there is just something so kinetic and high paced about it

first act after the intro could have used more action but i get what they were doing, building lore

I feel like that didn't make any sense even within the in-universe logic. Not only did she rip her arm off and escape but she also b\*\*\*y-trapped Dementus' ride AND get a bike for herself to ride off on. And doing all of that while being surrounded by Dementus' crew. Just a few too many big logical leaps for me to buy into it.

I absolutely had NO IDEA that they digitally altered the face of the young Furiousa actress to make it look like Anya's and they cranked that dial slowly as she grew older so that that transition is seamless. Learning this blew my mind because of how seamless it was.
