Well it was done a lotttttt better.
No excuse tbh
they aren't even finished with the CGI yet probably
watch early Fury Road trailers
imagine doubting George Miller

ehhhh. movie's not THAT far out. what we're seeing is close to what we're getting.
but it's not that it's CGI. they're just like ... doing a lot more outlandish things than the first in a way. Fury Road (somehow) felt grounded -- or at least, more grounded than this looks like it's gonna be.
Maybe CGI was improved?

minor plot details, kinda hard to spoil this movie with it being a prequel but

These trailers look awful.
Are y’all watching the same thing as me?
CGI looks cheap as hell.

no it doesnt
the CGI just has flair to it. Nothing about this movie looks cheap. Y'all are so brainwashed by Marvel's soulless but polished CGI
imagine doubting George Miller
Fr imagine being a Mad Max 1+2, Witches of Eastwick stan back in the day and just when you thought George was slipping he hits you with not one but two Babes, then not one but two Happy Feet

Yes it does.
This looks like The Hobbit vs LOTR.
Newer CGI ≠ better
It looks cheap.

Fury Road's trailer also had a number of shots that were touched up or looked very different to the final film
Regardless, it is delusional to compare these 2 films to LOTR vs Hobbit. Fury Road used a ton of CGI and compositing, way more than even LOTR. And we already know Furiousa used a ton of stuntwork and practical effects.

The hobbit has really good cgi tho
Smaug, all the orcs. They look great
