Not really it’s a good point but I think you have to remember we are talking about gen Z. Most of them are teenagers/early 20s. Many aren’t mature enough to see the bigger picture

imo it's a mix of

left being associated with "woke culture"
ongoing shift in gender roles
no "cool" media figure being leftist
racism is accepted again on social media
bitterness over the dating market
left having no policies that appease the average man

I think because a lot of the issues like reproductive rights hit closer to home for them

Outside the US “left wing” usually means some form of anti-capitalism (communists, socialists, anarchists)

while this thread is mainly talking about the liberal “left wing” in the US (Democrats, those that want gay marriage, minority rights, etc)

They do get conflated both intentionally and unintentionally.

The smarmy redditor type is more akin to the liberal left wing even if they consider themselves leftists

You even have people who consider themselves on the left but ideologically they are liberal which is a right wing ideology. Both republicans and democrats are liberals in the traditional sense

You do have a point about how the liberal left has failed to appeal or relate in large to men. A lot of stereotypes around anything progressive seen as soft or feminine (derogatory)

However it’s no surprise why women are more likely to oppose hierarchies and structures that oppress them. They will have an easier time recognizing their class consciousness when faced with misogyny, attack on their bodily autonomy, SA, all effects of living under a patriarchal system reinforced with capitalism.

It’s similar to why black peope are more likely to be skeptical or militant against the US gov or police in their views. We can easily recognize the oppression and racism living in a black persons body that no one else can relate to.

Its no surprise men at large, and CIS men, and depending on how narrow you get, certain subsets of men are more likely to be less inclined to change the status quo or react negatively to any progressive change
