exactly thank you i totally agree 100%. it's especially interesting to me because i feel like most fans got put on by heavy metal & 3d country before this became a "moment" after this dropped or whatever. like i randomly came across heavy metal seeing the cover and loving it early this year, then listening to it completely blew me away. i love him & this band off the music alone, and i feel like most other fans are like this tbh like cameron is an incredible songwriter especially for how young he is in an era where great songwriting has less value than ever, so the d***riding is very deserved in my eyes. rare moment where the hype meets the quality, and to me heavy metal and this blow all other 2020s internet/critic darling bands out of the water

nothing wrong with expressing why you dont like an album, i dont think this thread should be a giant circle jerk. not liking cameron winters voice is a valid reason to dislike getting killed even though thats kind of wild to me since his vocals are sick as f*** and one of the main reasons geese sticks out as a band, a voice that commanding is rare

some people are definitely riding this album too hard (mostly white people tbf) calling it the best album of all time and s***, its true there's a ton of hype behind it. part of that is good marketing, people wanting to fit in, but its also because the music is just hitting. $300 resell tickets for a band this small is insanity

however, i think young people being dramatic and celebrating the music from their own era is a much healthier approach compared to the "born in the wrong generation" types who act like music peaked in 1966 and refuse to seriously engage with the art of their times.

Like @fun said, I think it’s very much a case by case thing depending on the poster. I don’t @AmoryBlain is trying to be hostile or s*** on everyone itt, especially from seeing bro’s posts over the years. I just saw it as a different opinion.

Personally, im still not 100% on board with geese but I like seeing people get excited about something, even if I’m not fully into it or if ik some people are just hopping on a trend (not saying anyone itt ofc)
