most anybody who supports israel identifies as a zionist. I been invested in this s*** over a decade and (unfortunately) have interacted with a lot of pro israel scumbags. they are proud zionists.

i can see that. on my end working in creative and financial circles, it’s almost taboo for them to admit to being zionist, but instead being pro having a homeland and pro their relationships with people in israel

If I may take a stab at it, it sounds like what you’re getting at is kind of the same talking points that Biden’s press secretary gets at, not saying “the biden administration is zionist” but rather “the biden administration actively flights against hate and antisemitism”.

That passivity can be very infuriating, but I make it a point to critically pushback against that when I hear it. As someone with Jewish background, most young people aren’t even well versed enough to know what “Zionism” means, they’ve just been told to be pro-Israel their whole life. Also, birthright is viewed as Woodstock for Jews within the community, and the best s***vacation ever as you alluded to before

i’m seeing a lot of folks on twitter criticize this video but they the same ones that were @‘ing biden the other week and criticizing him for not shining a light on this issue. i think it’s commendable that the white house is at least trying to address the rise in islamophobia and anti-palestinian hate crimes. neither trump or obama gave af about doing that in israel’s prior bombing campaigns.

but at the same time, the white house aided in the genocide we’re currently in, with biden just last week calling into question whether or not the palestinians were lying about their death toll (???). as such i can see why people think this initiative and video is just the wh trying to save their sinking approval rating and poll numbers. it’s cynical but there’s likely an element of truth to it
