There's a lot of bad blood in this thread. I want to come in here and clear my name since my last account was booted off of this site for apparently being "too centrist".
Those who know who this will recognize my grammar and posting style.
I do not support Israel, I also do not support war. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my "centrist" comments earlier as they were misconstrued. I have never said I support Palestine or Israel.
I want this war to end, I want peace in this world. All of the people that are suffering and affected by this war should not have to deal with this.
I will not speak further on this event and will not take a stance because I do not understand it and I realize that it is very critical to some of you.

Why are some news outlets reporting as if hamas solely targeted the music festival ? It feels like really dishonest reporting and some articles are written like the only deaths occurred at the music festival . Am I missing something ?

Id say it’s just to describe the situation with the “these people who were peaceful and having a good time,” (outside an open air prison of modern day apartheid and arguably genocide) “and the evil terrorists hate freedom and western values killed them” angle
But multiple outlets are solely focused on this . I mean if the body count solely at the music festival that is a lot and easier to get the public to focus on that vs fighting a military. The innocent loss of life will always lose to the public in mass especially with traumatizing video and we deal with mass shootings in America . The Palestinian struggle has been long fought but isn’t really reported on outside of documentaries or a mention of an operation / protest and bulldozers every 2-4 years

Yeah I would be interested to know . Like yes there was no inside intel or warning but what makes someone think they have enough security to protect a fest in a war zone like my brain doesn’t even process it. If hamas saw the holiday and fest as an opportunity where who they feel is their enemy let their guard down I can only be so surprised. They fear extinction and people traveled to a fest likely on land that used to be their home and some dancing likely on their literal graves . It’s so sad but so inevitable for survival
