Man, people don’t know that Hamas is israel’s invention bc they didn’t like the influence that a more secular and socialist PLO was yielding during the Cold War. They wanted a Muslim based faction to deunify Palestinian nationalism under PLO further demonstrating the lack of sovereignty Palestinians have ever had. Well documented by Israeli sources. This concept of “choose better leaders” or “Palestinians should blame Hamas for Israel continuously attempting to colonize and kill them” is beyond stupid. That’s one point.

Second point is before Hamas was ever propped up by israel, and after Hamas is theoretically gone, israel’s conduct towards Palestinians has always remained exactly the same and will continue to be the same. Lol. The 75 year history demonstrates that.

Third point is that even before the creation of Israel and before the Holocaust there were Zionist terrorist groups like Irgun operating in Palestine. The founder of Irgun, Menachin Begin, formally went on to be an israeli prime minister. This ideology is deeply woven into Israel’s whole strategy towards Palestinians, hence there isn’t a good or bad version of israel. This is israel.

At the very least, these three points show how disingenuous litigating whether Hamas is good or bad. It’s a red herring. If it’s not Hamas, it has always been some other Palestinian boogieman or Palestinian threat that israel props up to the world to further colonizing Palestinians under force.

That brings me to this: there isn’t a good version of being colonized. There aren’t good colonialists. Israel will never be a legitimate country to Palestinians. At our expense? It’s a non-starter.

Many thousands of Gazans will die. Every year hundreds to thousands of Palestinians die. It has done absolutely nothing to curb western approval of israel’s actions.

And you know what the progressive western world will do 200 years from now? “oh that was actually our bad…it should be indigenous people day actually”

50% of Gaza is under the age of 18, being forced to live there. They cannot leave.You think the IOF provides the kids with invisible anti-bomb shields?

The deaths of children are always a tragedy, but the parents of any Israeli children who’ve died chose to force people out of their homes to move themselves there, fully aware of the risks involved in doing so. They forcibly took other peoples land to do this. It’s extremely irresponsible parenting at best.

i get the point because im obviously sympathetic myself but haiti is genuinely the last country these people should be using as a gotcha toward others. posts like this are basically just in-group signaling more than they do anything to convince anyone. virtually anyone on the opposition is just going to look at the state of haiti and go "and how'd that work out for them?" then ignore the rest of the conversation. if you want sympathy from the avg american, compare the situation in palestine to the founding of america (even if thats obviously manipulatively incongruent)
