Almost seems like they botched it intentionally or maybe just picked up a d*** habit or had a marriage disintegrate or something half way through the series and stopped caring

Everything to say about seasons 7 and 8 have been said already more times than I can count. There are 100 different videos on YouTube talking about it

Its just annoying you can't even discuss moments in the show now without people coming from every direction saying

"But the ending was s***ty tho!"

"Remake season 8!"

Like yes bruh we know it was bad. But I wanna talk about all the good.

There are moments that will stick with you forever

the intensity of the bad erased any memories of the good sorry

Why do you think the outcome for House of the Dragon will be anything like GOT ?

But its not those two idiots so maybe this wont be butchered, for now its all we can hope for

1. The entire Dance of Dragons story is completed, the same can't be said for A Song Of Ice And Fire

2. D&D have no involvement with this series

3. George RR Martin had almost no involvement with Game of Thrones after season 4. D&D stopped consulting with George after they ran out of book material to adapt, so all those story choices in later seasons had nothing to do with George.
It's not that he let it slide, it's just that GOT wasnt his show to make those decisions.

4. The new showrunners are in constant contact with George, and have a full understanding of the book material and lore

I genuinely don't see any red flags to be concerned about at the moment.
GOT was at its best when it had book material to rely on, and a team that cared about the material.
House of The Dragon has both of those things and has a complete story to tell

Fair points. I've been watching Talking Thrones on YT still so I'm hyped but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than horribly let down, ya feel me

Im probably one of the few who really still thought the show was top notch 7 seasons in. 8 though… that s*** is an abomination. Nothing I can say that ain’t been said. There are things I liked about season 8. In a vacuum, all the battles were top notch, but when you wanna go deeper, the s*** just unravels

Seasons 5-7 I’d have to look at the episode descriptions, but off the top of my head, they had some of my very favorite moments in the show. Even though most people seem to regard anything past season 4 as a major drop off

Tbhhh when watching season 7 when it first premiered i enjoyed it A LOT.
And looking back the only true problems to me with that season was the pacing was getting way too fast, things were starting to move too quickly in short periods of time
But I think there is a lot in season 7 to appreciate

And yea season 8 is one of the best looking seasons of any show ever, and also the acting was phenomenal. Those were the 2 best things i can say about that final season

Yea I think 5-7 has plenty of phenomenal moments

6 especially had amazing moments and tbh if the rest of the show had been season 6 quality, the reception on the end would be wayyyy better

A rewatch of 1-4 helped bring back my appreciation tbh.

Season 5 is where it started to kill my spirit though. Especially this time around knowing what happens in the books and the different routes they took in the show for whatever reason.

it is legitimately insane that he hasn't put one out in 11 years and still has no time frame for the next one. i mean i get writers block is a thing but cmon it doesn't last years. dude had his book series blow up into the biggest thing and then just deadass didn't finish it and is probably never going to.
