this song is fine as a happier sounding break in the album but it’s random that he’s fixating on this song + the nudy verse is tacked on there as like a modern day version of what he’s criticizing almost with the main songs message so i don’t get what the ultimate purpose is

I think Gambino with his world building and conceptualization of his albums is more Kendrick and Kanye-like than he is given credit for

These are very bold album length statements with very deep implications to explore within all of them

The crux of it is BTI with its genius script and rollout approach and AML with its very subtle concept and brilliant musicality (and underrated visual VR element). Then 3.15 being maybe his best musically and a great tribute and emotional album that has the songs come together very well with a strong message

His catalog is better than Tyler the Creators and I used to be a big supporter of his catalog

Album wise it’s Kendrick and Gambino in their era carrying the torch for Ye. And Gambino artistry needs more respect he’s Ye level

Nudy verse is a great addition the beat on there is one of the albums highlights and I know y’all hate rap and don’t really listen to what he was talking about in his verse

Kendricks execution on the music and particularly the rapping/lyrics is a bit better

But Gambino makes up for it with the amazing artwork/visuals/extra artistic components. It’s the best we’ve ever seen. Him and Kendrick discography is a conversation. Do I think Kendrick wins? Sure. It’s a conversation though

To me its like gambino murdered everything that was genuine and authentic on 3.15.20 for Altavista and i already wasn't a fan of 3.15. S*** sounds like an autotune electronic dystopian mashup of funk /soul hits and just done in a completely unlikeable way. Wierd mix tbh.

Even though you got a point Gambino's execution of communicating that vision always falls short when you strictly just look at the music and don't think about the videos, writing extra s***, and the attatched experience.

I've been a fan since before Camp and man execution of artistry wise i could never compare gambino to kanye/kendrick especially off BTI.
