Darius arguably was the one character who didn’t have any goals or dreams (in an ambitious way)….Al was chasing a rap career, Earn was chasing a management career, Darius kinda seemed to just go wit the flow and have no care.

As corny as it sounds, maybe his dream was to have a new family. I know some women whose dream in life is to get married and start a family, that’s all they care about.

To me viewing it that way adds an additional layer where it’s like “Darius is living the dream” where he has a new family to help him get over his actual family who passed.

All Darius wants in life is to be surrounded by people who loves and cares about him, whom he can love and care about in return. To him that’s his dream. So no matter how you interpret “Judy being thick or not” he got exactly what he wanted and it ultimately doesn’t matter.

I honestly don’t think they ran wit a cop out ending of “haha the entire series was just a dream guys it was fake”….this is Atlanta we’re talking about and it runs deeper than that. I didn’t look at it as a “literal dream” but more so a metaphor representing grief and overcoming your past. “Stop living in the past and enjoy the present” seems to be the true meaning behind the whole dreams vs reality.

And for those saying “he was still in the tank in the end” notice that every time he thought he was in real life, he turned out to be in the tank. So it’s highly plausible that now when he THINKS he’s still in the tank, he’s actually back to reality.

  • finale was a 10. season 4 was a 10. f*** man, gonna miss the F*** outta this show. been watching since I started college and now I’m 24 years old grown up an s***. thank u for the greatness donald

And if I’m not mistaken multiple iterations of what we KNOW to be a dream involved his brother in a way right?

It starts off with him picking up pills for his bro, and then has the run in with the cops and wakes up in the tank.

And then another dream involves him actually seeing and hanging out with his brother.

To me that means he uses the tank to see his family. It’s not like his brother coincidentally showed up ONE time during his dream sessions, he was involved damn near every time. More evidence to me that this was about the way Darius has been coping and needing to accept he does have a new family. Like he literally thought Earn/Van/Al was part of his dream because he only gets to experience his love ones in his dream. Until Earn had to remind him “no we are your real life friends”

Anyone else notice the similarities between the ending and Inceptions ending

Bro no lie right when I realized the show was about to end and the way the scene was playing out, I said to myself “inception 🤔”

I don’t think it was a dream tho. I think it was Darius letting go of the past and his family who passed away and appreciating his new fam he has. That’s why his brother said “go be outside with your people”

Maybe the tank was a way for Darius to still feel connected to his family in a way by getting to “see them” And that’s why he does it once a week

I’m also assuming Darius brother died from some type of illness and that’s why he handed him some pills/medicine? Unless I missed something from that scene

If it was a dream, there would be no reason for him to smile imo.

He’s more so living the dream life cus he’s surrounded by people who love him, ultimately all Darius cares about.

I think ppl need to view the whole “dreams” thing more metaphorically than literally

It was funny to see the person playing Darius brother on here because he has a show that just ended on showtime called “Flatbush Misdemeanors.” If you a fan of Atlanta I think everybody should check that show out. Similar shows but both fire in their own way.

    NEW EQUITY

I think it’s a dream stil. Because how he know to pull up in a pink car and punch the dude offering fish right on time.?

He knew where to meet them bc he was supposed to be there in the first place.

Ppl tend to forget Darius is very intuitive. I don’t think “BUT HE DROVE A PINK CAR AND PUNCHED THE SUSHI GUYS” is good enough evidence to prove he’s “dreaming”…it’s kinda funny that THATS what ppl are running with

    Master of none slander

  • Nov 11, 2022

it’s the perfect final joke. instead of arguing whether or not Tony died, or if the top stopped spinning, imagine fans mad that they didn’t see whether or not judge Judy was thick. so f***ing funny

  • Nov 11, 2022

Idk if I’d agree with “master of none takes the easy way out” maybe I have to rewatch the show. But that list of rules is dope inside to the writing process

Atlanta imo. I stil don’t believe Jimmy would turn down that great deal and end up confessing instead

  • The fact that this was originally pitched as a show about rappers, and this is the closest thing we've gotten to seeing Paperboy rap (in the form of a nursery rhyme), is hilarious to me
