Lmao @ “white people slavery thing”….you mean reparations
Yeah lol
idk how I forgot that word
You might be on to something. I just looked up meanings of a dead rat, and although there are a few meanings...these stood out to me the most

So it could be symbolism of Al needing to overcome fear or reliance and fix his own problems . He wouldn't have reached his goal of fixing the tractor if he wouldve cowered away from it like he did in New Jazz.
I believe this whole is about independence, growth and perseverance. Al tends to his own farm, fixed a tractor on his own, cooks his own food, and fights his own battles
Damn that’s a fact. I just know Atlanta doesn’t do anything by mistake so feel like that s*** makes alotta sense
I also just thought of something
In New Jazz, Al fell victim to his fears and as a result he ended up needing Earn to find him and take him to his room. And watch over him
(Keep in mind this was the same episode where he cowered away from the rat)
But in this episode he's able to wake up and get home all on his own
(He was also able to get rid of dead rat on his own and fix the problem)
Facts! Damn both episodes mirror each other in a crazy way
Do we think the writers had this in mind when writing?

No lie you could make a wild ass movie out of the solo Al episodes.
1st Act - The Club
2nd Act A - Woods
2nd Act B - New Jazz
3rd Act - Alfred’s World
You’d prolly have to switch a few things to make it flow better wit the time gaps but the overall theme and character arc would of made a very compelling film fr

Absolutely. They wrote seasons 3 and 4 at the same time so I view them as being companions to each other
Rollin' is such a deep cut, was definitley surprised to hear it in the episode
I was SHOCKED when I heard it like....my mom had this album!
man, i had anxiety that whole episode until he talked to Earn, then it went to ease immediately.
Soon as I saw the skillet I knew Al was gon' be fine.
F*** THAT HOG!
yeah show sort of lost me in the final 2 seasons
I feel like these type of fans yall never watch or listen to any Donald Glover interviews.
The show was NEVER supposed to be centered around "hey look at these niggas and this rapper" that was the trojan horse.

Glover included a dad and an enigmatic character because he “knew what FX wanted” from him. The Grammy winner tells The New Yorker that the basic-cable network envisioned him and Office alum Craig Robinson, who now stars in the Fox sitcom Ghosted, “horse-tailing around, and it’ll be kind of like Community, and it’ll be on for a long time.” So Glover “Trojan-horsed FX” by waving archetypal figures like a “withholding father” in front of executives’ noses, because “if I told them what I really wanted to do, it wouldn’t have gotten made.”
Donald promised, “Earn and Al work together to make it in the rough music industry. Al got famous for shooting someone and now he’s trying to deal with fame, and I’ll have a new song for him every week. Darius will be the funny one, and the gang’s going to be all together.” That was the Trojan horse."
Now shut the f*** up and eat a d***.

He should have listened to them
He should have listened to them
You wanted Atlanta to be a straight forward sitcom ?
He should have listened to them
& your moms shoulda listened to the abortion doctors.
guess we all don't get our way.
You wanted Atlanta to be a straight forward sitcom ?
Yeah, at least narratively
The more this show started turning into twilight zone the less the characters started to matter to me
