Really doesn’t need to be that complex. The best tv keeps it simple and doesn’t take itself so seriously. This has became way to pretentious and really nothing like the Donald Glover we grew up knowing. Granted people and their prerogatives are allowed to change and evolve, but this just ain’t it for me anymore. Season 3 was way to try hard and season 4 seems like it’s not going to be much different besides the different “tone”.

There is nothing wrong with a show having seasons with different tones, the Atlanta creators take different approaches for each season and that's what keeps things fresh and unpredictable

And yea sounds like Atlanta just isn't the show for you, cause each season has had different vibes since season 1.
Season 1 was mostly a lighthearted comedy, season 2 was dark drama/comedy, season 3 was mostly surrealist drama, and season 4 is going back to the mostly lighthearted feel of season 1

it’s playful, it’s funny, it’s scary, it’s got every thing the show has been doing, done in an crazy setting considering the plot of the show

it’s goofy and just a little campy but it embraces all that to make a powerful statement about the state of mind van is in

i think van and earns relationship has always been one of my favorite parts of the show and this moment feels so cathartic if you’ve been invested in her struggle for identity

This show is gonna HIT on the rewatch

Season 3 was basura

Waited awhile to see if it would grow on me but I have no desire to rewatch any episode except for Cancer Attack

I understand Atlanta not a normal show but the fact that nothing came from Sox taking the phone was frustrating

But I could get past that if the season wasn’t so trash

Worst thing about season 3 is it ended with no interest for the 4th season. It didn’t end with any questions or any care for the characters.
