Thing that some ppl don’t realize is when you bring in a random new character like Teddy you can make him however you want because we haven’t lived wit him and don’t know anything about him. DARIUS didn’t do anything that episode that was far left from his character.
When you take a main character like Van and try to all sudden go super left field with her, it becomes off putting because we have grown to see how her character is developed so when all sudden she’s doing numerous of things that doesn’t make sense, it leaves room for us to dislike it.
I notice everyone keeps comparing the actions a main character (Van) is doing to what RANDOM characters did, as a way to say “see they’ve been doing this in Atlanta the whole time” when in actuality it’s not the same.

And ppl keep forgetting it’s called character ARC meaning you gradually see the character turn and change, not all sudden just do a complete 180 out of nowhere.
With the show being so short you can’t have everything, you can’t have anthology episodes that pushes theme while also having great character development for 4 characters. Something has to give. So saying Vans character development was poorly written isn’t a far fetched critique.
I hope the writers and actors just learn to STFU and let the art speak.
When you claim this is the best show since sopranos, niggas will judge it as such.
When you say “Van has an amazing character arc that I love” niggas will judge it as such.
It’s nothing worse than building up an audiences expectations so high just to fall short.
Van randomly pushing ppl in pools and acting weird in the previous episodes was WAYYY better character development and showcasing her depressing rather than whatever they tried to do with the finale.
Zazie can beat me with a breadstick and cook my hands whenever she feels like it imma just be honest with you

i know it smell crazy in there
Being run over by an invisible whip does not have the moral questions of repeatedly killing/trafficking corpses for cannibals.
I swear you guys write this stuff off because there's so much surrealism in the show.
There's a difference in silly comedy and making one of your main characters someone who belongs in a mental institution for the rest of their lives

You're right, the episode is about a fictional character I felt sympathy for until the show forced me to not have sympathy for her anymore
ngl to u brodie i think it don’t hit bc ur white
that's the weird part cus im saying the problem is i dont feel any sympathy for the white ppl in the anthology s***. I think the writers want me to feel sympathy for them, but I don't. And you'd think being white would make me more sympathetic, right?

fr it bothers me when someone criticizes the writing (usually for good reason) but they're just told "it's surreal bro u dont get it"
feels like atlanta is getting rick and mortified

Yeah I liked the season but kept thinking about how Donald said this is better than the wire the entire time
Thinking about it now this episode would work better not being the season finale. Besides not being a good conclusion, they made such a suspense since episode 2 about what was going on with Van just to give this bs explanation. It completely destroyed her character.
It surely won't grow on me but I hope with the release of next season I will hate this episode less.
