Really liked the Amsterdam and phone episodes from this season so far

The way they’re doing it got me wondering, anyone got any non-anthology TV recommendations?

Donald flexing about this season on Twitter looks so weird now This isn't like Graduation at all (Paperboi getting mainstream success now, that's where the comparison ends) and it doesn't measure up to Sopranos. I feel like it's not only the network, the audience is being trolled now by being given a show we weren't expecting

And I seen the post in here saying this show is meant to educate white people - how has this season been doing that? I feel like a lot of the commentary this season could be seen by white people as "Nope, not me. I'm not guilty of that" because these characters and situations aren't really relatable to them and just be shrugged off Reparations episode had Earnest hitting the audience over the head with a hammer to get the message across, but I don't think the first episode and this latest one is going to stick with white people and make them question their own perspective

I did not what a Dave type show, Cancer Attack may be the closest thing this show has done to a typical sitcom episode and I would not want 4 seasons of that. But what this season is doing is not it either imo

Last page filled with nothing but pussies and coons

Donald glover been said if he had pitched what he really wanna do with Atlanta they woulda never gave the green light.

Yall kenya barris d***riding motherfuckers just wanted an edgier black Dave. Well cry now, cause you not getting that.

    crine they mad as s***

only criticism was repèrerions episode was too on those nose

This episode had too many random things happening without any reason or explanation imo. Someone on here said Earnest's actor's Wikipedia page has spoilers on it, hopefully there's something to tie this season up. I don't mind not seeing the characters, but this episode just wasn't funny and didn't say much I don't feel that way about the other two episodes

I'd respect this show if it ended up being a satire of how mainstream Hollywood has kinda capitalized off the black experience by having low hanging fruit social commentary and award shows are eager to bend over backwards to recognize these movies and series. But I don't know how they'd separate themselves and make it clear this isn't just another one of those shows

I'm curious about how Donald's relationship with his wife works It has to feel weird making this type of commentary about white people with the family he has. The show seems to mock "invited to the cookout" modern liberal white people, I wonder how he views his wife

p sure his wife is asian tho is she not ?

Niggas want this to be a "turn your brain off and laugh" ass show lol f*** all that

im so confused on what kinda show they want out of this, bc there’s valid criticisms to be made but i don’t see much itt

forget dave, we simply don’t need a show that documents the behind the scenes life of a rapper.

s1/2 this angle worked, bc they weren’t in the industry yet. it was fun watching the progress bc that’s the side you don’t normally see.

paperboi and earn are at a point in their careers where we can imagine how a lot of their life will play out simply bc that lifestyle is so visible on instagram and social media rn

it would be redundant if they gave us what we can find on our instagram feeds, just glammed up

I’m one of the people who love the anthology episodes more but yeah, I feel like he should have just created a whole new show to explore this. it’s crazy to me that we waited 4 years for a season that doesn’t even feature the cast half of the time

y’all saying this like we’re not getting two seasons

it was a big challenge to bring the cast back logistically and narratively

i think s3 is the perfect transition for what’s to come in the fall

y’all acting like we’re not gonna have a season full of the old s***

they already confirmed s4 has everything everyone misses about atlantab

You may be right, I'm not too sure about his wife's ethnicity. But season 1 had commentary about them capitalizing off black culture too with the character who was making Vine type s***. Like how does he reconcile himself feeling that way and putting that in his show but also having black/Asian children

this was def the weirdest ep of Atlanta so far, quite subtle as a white man find their take on whiteness pretty funny tbh. this was the first Ep of the season directed by Donald and he'll direct and/or write all of the last three episodes of the season now. preparing for a wild ride tbh

you’re not telling me anything that I don’t already know nor does any of it negate what I said

the only reason it was a big challenge to bring everybody back was bc they didn’t want to do it. Donald admitted he wanted to end it at 2

Why do people keep comparing this to Blackish, Abbott Elementary, etc ???

Yall really want Atlanta to be that type of show .

I love Abbott Elementary too, but if you think Atlanta should be anything like those shows then I mustve been watching a completely different show from some of yall since season 1

I’m clueless as to why ppl want multiple of the same show?

Like I get it you want to watch tv to escape reality and forget about racism for a bit. But Atlanta handles these themes too f***in well, and it’s necessary.

Mfs in here mad af that I don't wanna watch Donald glover sit white people down and tell them they're garbage every week. Yeah it'd be nice to see the adventures of paperboy and earn

God forbid I'd like some entertainment in my comedy show.

Atlanta has always dealt with racial issues. But it used to be more witty about it and had more humor involved. And the main characters used to be in the show

I don’t even think niggas is paying much attention to you so you can humble ya self. I’m more talking about Mr. “rocket science”

He's famously has fetishised asian women countless times in his works lol.

So he wins either ways in his eyes at the end of the day
