Earn and Van need to stop playing and get together man, i love them together
Earn is a d***, and Van is erratic and weird but when they’re vibing they’re such a dope couple
See I prefer when they showcase these themes through the main characters. No offense but I don’t really care about seeing a white persons POV as the main perspective.

Earn being able to lie that well right on the spot is a scary trait lol
So of course we know this episode heavily deals with how European fashion brands appropriate black messages and imagery and/or naively design some racist s*** without even realizing it
We see this happen all the time, with these just being a couple examples
This happens because either you have some rich execs who are clueless about racist imagery, or because they never hire black people in the top positions to give counsel and be hands on with the design process
In this case, they do have a couple black people for counsel, but not the type who give AF about black issues. They are strictly in it for the money even at the expense of their own people.
Which is why the European dude was able to design a jersey saying 'Central Park 5' with a raccoon on the front. He has absolutely no idea how that can be taken wrong, and no f***in clue who the Central Park 5 are. He just sees a name and a number for a jersey.
And now you have this giant billboard displaying a white woman wearing the black trauma as a fashion statement , and surrounded by black men.
And everyone involved with it were clueless of the context

And with Central Park 5 if you aren’t informed on the story niggas wouldn’t even see how the billboard is offensive. Genius.
Yooooo the Americanized Nigerian food truck with the mom-and-pop place out of business woooowwwww. That commentary is insane
Feel me? Genius topics and execution in this episode.
Only thing that threw me off a tiny bit is the time span. I’m not sure how much time passed by from Darius showing the white girl the restaurant to him seeing her open her own Nigerian spot.

Bro it really was a brilliant episode all around
I think the fact that it felt like a flash, like it could've been the next day or a few days later, was kind of the point. At first it seemed like it was just later in Darius' day. That felt like hyperbolic 'it happens in a flash' story-telling, where in the blink of an eye that place was gone and replaced by the 'Naija Bowl'.

She did say that they owned a bunch of food trucks i think
Definitely exaggerated time-wise for the show though lmao

Facts
The insane of amount of Gucci characters are wearing this seasons starts to make sense after the current episode
See I prefer when they showcase these themes through the main characters. No offense but I don’t really care about seeing a white persons POV as the main perspective.
yep
earn consistently winning van back is proof of baby daddy privilege
well of course
He was on the verge fr
I felt for him in that moment too of course that b**** did that. He was trying to tell her about the culture while she half-assedly listened, instagram'd the food and shazam'd the music. Then she just put it out of business. Damn
Didn’t even realize she got on Shazam
Or are you just saying that?
Like they highlighted Nigeria alot more than the stereotype but Darius is far from a Nigerian American in any aspect
like they came up with this version of him specifically for this season.
What they doing with Vans character this season. This the only time I seen the ghost arc make a little sense
What ghost arc?

Yup same thing I was thinking. Obviously in reality it would take much longer but when you caught up in it time moved fast
