Yupp been seeing that theory as well

I meannnnnn..this season has referenced ghosts in every episode, so it's not the craziest theory
But at the moment I still don't think Van is dead.

But there is some really really weird s*** going on with her.

She got a boyfriend, but out of town with her baby-daddy and is walking around a hotel hallway naked getting ice at 4 AM

    Nah she definitely being weird.

So apparently in episode three, Van can be seen phasing through a light post? Could most likely be an editing phulb that made its way to final production unnoticed.

But apparently people are using this to run with the theory that Van is actually dead.

Someone got a vid? Or time stamp

“I am exhausted by these magical plot devices who somehow survived a level two college workshop edit, show up for one episode, do strange and surprising things that reveal previously unseen and totally unearned and usually inconsistent depths of our characters, then disappear. The murderous survival bum in the woods was the tip of the iceberg. Now, every week, we have to deal with something along the lines of a Wiley, deep breath the cryptic, obnoxious, estranged recessive gene looking American born nephew through marriage of the Hungarian concert promoter who we’re lead to believe stole Al’s phone and has an accent that comes and goes and s***s himself and doesn’t have a fixed age but shares a birthday with fellow Taurus Al and spent time in juvie and knows Al’s phone number and all of Al’s deepest and darkest secrets dating back to high school and seemingly can look directly into his soul and asks for a cigarette even though he doesn’t smoke and also has his uncle bring a guitar to the nearly episode long interrogation that goes nowhere and sings him this deep, meaningful song, and then we find out he didn’t steal the phone.”

Lmao I thought the episode was cool but dude said

It's right at the moment when they're walking up to the "decoy house"

    She passes right through it.

they might appreciate having a local around that knows how to navigate around Europe

Yup he knows the area and, even if he is annoying af, he would seemingly add a 'wild card' element to the group that they're known to take on (a la Tracy). Some excitement to spice up their routine, I guess? I don't think he's going to be around for too long, but they probably didn't see the harm in letting him accompany them for a bit and show them around.

    Damn.

I would believe the theory fully if it was just Earn talking to her and not the whole cast on some Mr. Robot s***

-Pushed random people in a pool

-Stole stuff from a rich dude's house, left the party alone and went to get food without telling anyone

-Disappeared for 6 days with no contact with Earn

I'm not necessarily saying this criticism isn't valid, but it's also worth noting that in this shows universe:

Rats can be used as cellphones.
Their exist beings that can crawl on ceilings.
Tupac was still alive after all these years
    Invisible cars exist
    Nutella sandwich man
    Drake is Mexican
    Justin Bieber is black

and a bunch of other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. The show was originally pitched as "twin peaks with rappers"

The supernatural and surreal elements of the show are more precedented than people care to realize.

The pilot opens with her and Earn in bed together, only for her to get up and get dressed for a date.

While that’s all true that just kinda makes this a semi sci fi show lol and I think the problem the writer would have is less with the fantasy supernatural s*** and moreso with s*** being used as one time plot devices that never show back up again.

I mean people keep bringing up Clark County but has there even been any crazy moment that the show has brought back up between seasons?

That being said I try to appreciate each episode for being a singular experience at this point knowing that with less than 15 episodes left in the entire show and they’ve confirmed it’s ending it just is what it is lol

If we're counting what gets posted on the official Atlanta twitter account, which has kinda started to exist as a pseudo-ARG that "sort of" posts supplemental "material" that would occasionally flesh out the world building of the show... in theory.

Then technically yes. But that's a complete reach on my part, you'd have to make a lot of assumptions until things are actually confirmed.

I doubt the van theory is true lol
in an earlier episode Earn referenced speaking to her mom and said she told him she had been acting strange. They’ve already gone to like 2 or 3 different cities thus far there’s no way Earn wouldn’t have been given word that the mother of his child is dead lol

  • Apr 16, 2022

With that being said, part of the brilliance of this show is the fact that we can even speculate on something like that and there’s never been a show with black leads that evokes these sort of conversations
