I keep asking WHAT makes the show great and not a single person can say a single thing about that show that would make it "one of the best TV shows".
Oh, I personally enjoy pretty much every aspect of that show and think it's A1. The characters, and their dynamics / relationships with each other, is some of the most fascinating I have ever witnessed. They're all expertly written and, more importantly, acted. The subtle nuances with their dialogue and facial expressions and mannerisms. The plot is extraordinarily interesting. It's shot well and the music composition is excellent. It's funny, compelling, engaging and interesting. Not a critic by any means but I do watch a lot of TV shows.

not everybody can articulate that and even if they cant it doesn't mean that its not true
I said this in the Donald Glover interviews himself thread, but Americans are lucky to have high quality shows/movies like this that provide social commentary. I'd give anything to have something like this done about Apartheid

That s*** is Shakespearen.
Dialogue is top notch, damn near every line is quotable.
And every single actor is doing an amazing job.
Every season there are several actors and actresses who deserve Emmy nominations.
It's also funny and directed really well. The way the cinematography makes you feel like you are in the room with the characters is amazing and immersive.
And so many twists and turns, betrayals and alliances.
It's like season 1 Game of Thrones but without the violence of course
is the point of Atlanta to highlight racial situations that happen everyday like it's normal but in reality are actually incredibly weird?

What's "good characters" without a good story?
the latest episode, as a white-passing person (Iranian-American), made me uncomfortable as f***, in a good way
this season is pretty brilliant so far but I totally understand the criticisms.
I’m slow, what was the message here with ep.4?
I might get flamed for this but I don't think there was supposed to be some social message behind it. I think the whole idea of reparations was just used as a backdrop for a compelling story, it did a good job of humanizing both sides
Also couldn’t help but notice Earn didn’t rly ask about his kid when Van mentioned she was in Europe…. unless I missed it
They barely talk about their kid lol. He just focussed on himself and career more than the kid unfortunately.
Black guy in Starbucks got sent to the end of the line for doing the same thing the white dude was doing

It’s Arrested Development for plebs
Lmaoo people are tho and the consensus is that it’s basic tumblr meme level of deep metaphors about reparations/white guilt
I hate the idea that what was shown beforehand can't affect or influence how we feel what we are presented now.
If the past two seasons mainly focused on the main crew, then of course people are gonna feel iffy not seeing them for almost two full episodes lmao

mayo boy straight up stole the cookies too
Donald wasn’t lying when he said y’all would be mad next week in reference to this episode
mayo boy straight up stole the cookies too
Yeah but that was less subtle. I feel like most people overlooked that quick racism.

Haven’t watched a single episode until “The Payback”. Watched it twice in a row
, somebody need to pay up
