No one wants to hear a 40 year old mother of 3 rap like Megan thee Stallion or sing like she was born in another continent. everything she does feels fake, even more so than Drake, and she needs to get a grip and go back to the roots of why people liked her in the first place
facts. I don't wanna say she needs to go back to that sound, but people liked her for her SINGING.
She and Usher are my fave current artists and they both suffer the same fate. They're music now isn't that bad, but compare it to what it was in their prime and wtf happened?
She went from songs like Signs, Yes, Speechless, Naughty Girl, Crazy In Love on her first album, to "Hips TikTok when I dance, on that Demon Time, she might start a OnlyFans, Big B and that B stand for bands, if you wanna see some real ass, baby, here's your chance... I'm a savage." He went from U Got It Bad, Caught Up, and Here I Stand to "Shawty I don't mind if you dance on a pole that don't make you a hoe"
Those two were at the top and the last two huge stars to truly make that transition to trend chasing. Once they left, R&B really took a nosedive.
I commend them for staying relevant since the 90s and still having hits into 39 and lower 40s, but I hope they realize they're getting too old for this. I think Usher realized this a bit and made the right move by working with JD again to make real R&B music and SING again like he was before. I think Beyonce will soon, I feel like she's aware. I think she'll come back to traditional R&B with her next album too.
