Ace Hood's Mr. Hood (2020) is his magnum opus and the fact people look over this album cause of the stupid rollie meme pisses me off. @PushaToThe the production on this album is some of the best I've heard in a while.

I don’t think he started the vamp s*** until late 2019/2020. When I saw him in summer 2019 he had on an orange fit and beanie and looked just like that picture with longer hair lmao

The genre could honestly use this at this point. They need to get some new stuff going and it could even introduce new fans to someone like Kenny Mason. I know Denzel is kind of going this route but he's not really a new rapper.

Guys now just don't have the craft imo. If a new gen country singer gets in the studio with a new gen rapper, it's gonna be a sloppy sandwich of music for the kids that like that s***. I think that's all that matters these days but, said song will just come and go.

If any change is to happen in current Hip Hop, it's gonna come out of left field, the revolution will not be televised

Weird take but I think this year in Hip Hop has been interesting and will be one of the greatest years in the Canon.

Compared to 2023, 2024 felt like an organic Hip Hop protest.

2023 had Drake's influence and the qualities surrounded with why Hip Hop is declining, basically the artists who don't really push the culture forward:(Ex. Sexxy Redd, Ice Spice, Jack Harlow, Rod Wave, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi Vert, etc.)

While I felt like this year had that organic feel. Basically, artists who show a sense of appreciation and artistry with their work.
(Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti, Future, Megan The Stallion, Glorilla, etc.) I might be explaining it wrong but Hip Hop felt really authentic this year compared to last year. Those artists I listed played a big role in that.

Lir2 aesthetic was anime kuwaii type bullshit lol

You just showing you weren’t really there and just nitpicking a couple fits here and there.

You don’t really have an understanding of where either one was pulling from for their art direction.

If it happens, I'm all for it. The next generation and new generation kids need to try something new and not copy or paste.

Same with SGP and Jim Jones. I’m just not about to give Uzi credit for that s*** cause some director had him put on some bat wings for a photo shoot.

I see your point, we had less noticeably manufactured moments this year. Also, the rally and concern behind Hip Hops decline, is of course, real. The genre still has hope as an artform

    You posting fan art bro.

Uzi was taking pictures with pokemon cards and rapping about catching Mewtwos.

Another take, we are definitely getting a new genre that will become the de facto youth culture. The Black youth will once again change the tides.

Hip Hop has been the cultural tour de force for 30 years now (90s - 2020s). Just like Rock was from the 50s - 80s and Jazz from the 20s - early 50s.

It's coming and it's going be an assimilation of a whole bunch of influences.

It’s all the same era lol. Like I said bro you cherry picked a couple of fits. Niggas that was around at the time know that wasn’t really an accurate representation of that’s he was on.

And I didn’t forget that Uno s***. That’s a common tactic that niggas use to act like they know more than they really do
