Brian Steel's co-counsel, Keith Adams, steps up for cross-examination.

Keith Adams hones on the fact that the witness has no way of knowing what happened to her stolen car in the 6 days between when it was stolen and when it was found, and that she was never asked to identify anyone involved.

State does a brief redirect, and the witness is done.

We are back in court with the state's #4 witness: Sgt. Jonathan Heeb. Similar to the last witness, Judge Glanville asked the media not to show his face.

  • Nov 30, 2023

Sgt. Jonathan Heeb is testifying about overt act 3, relating to the arrest of Shannon Stillwell in August 23, 2013 for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

  • Nov 30, 2023

We are done with Sgt. Heeb's testimony. He won't be called back to testify.

We are now hearing from Scott Jimenez, an APD officer, who was also involved in the 2013 arrest of Shannon Stillwell.

  • Nov 30, 2023

We are done with Lt. Jimenez. He will not be called back to testify.

We are moving on to over act 4, which involves Atlanta rapper Young Thug. Andrew Phillips is testifying and Judge Glanville has asked for his face not to be shown.

  • Nov 30, 2023

Phillips said he returned from vacation around July 10, 2013. When he came back, his door was ajar and he called police. He later noticed that some items were missing including two guns - a handgun and a shotgun, a laptop.

  • Nov 30, 2023

Phillips confirmed, without being able to see the serial number, said it does look like his stolen firearm. He said it's a very specific firearm because it is one that is issued to Navy Seals, although he wasn't in the Navy Seals and thought it would be cool to have.

  • Nov 30, 2023

Phillips said that the shotgun was not recovered to his knowledge.

Young Thug's attorney Keith Adams is cross-examining Phillips

  • Nov 30, 2023

Adams approached Phillips to talk about the gun but Phillips said he could not recall the gun's serial number off the top of his head but that the gun looked like it.

Phillips has been temporarily excused so he might be called back in the future.

He would later find the stolen gun in the car Thug was driving.
