A RICO case is built around a theory of conspiracy and racketeering intent. Obviously we don't know the full picture, but Thug and Gunna have a good chance of having their charges dropped if it doesn't hit certain requirements.
Based on the snippets of shaky evidence we have so far, the theory doesn't seem very well-defined or built upon, but again we obv don't know the full picture of the case.
If the case hits trial though, it get exponentially harder.
All in all, yes, it's a federal case and very scary, but not unbeatable.
