there were two different things that young thug's lawyers pointed out from the 2017 traffic stop
1) the officers didnt read them their miranda rights, so their statements after they sat them down on the curb were inadmissible
2) the officer didn't have a reasonable suspicion based off the tinted windows to pull them over in the first place, because (in my understanding) the tint isn't illegal if it came like that from the manufacturer and there's no way the officer could have known if it was aftermarket tint or not, so the d**** themselves were inadmissible evidence
the trial court agreed on both issues
the state only appealed on the second issue, and the court of appeals basically said even if the officer didn't know if the tint was from the manufacturer, he could reasonably suspect it was aftermarket tint even if he was wrong, so the stop was ok and they didn't need to throw out the evidence
