he entered "mainstream" 2018 with freddie and Fetti. He was known before but after that year, he dropped consistently, had no more big legal issues, got bigger deals, etc.

It's very rare to see an artist like D Smoke get nominated for a grammy. Freddie got his grammy nom from releasing good music and goodwill from the buzz he built starting in 2018. Like Jay Elect, Pusha, Nas, etc. he had a real track record.

if you get a grammy nom you are mainstream.

i think he will release music as much as he wants to. but i dont think itll get the media coverage & hiphop buzz after that. it happens quick. Ghostface is still an incredible rapper in 2022 but his last 2 pack of songs didnt get much coverage. Freddie isnt from a big market either.

He’s talked about retiring soon and wanting to be a podcaster on rogan. In another rogan interview he said he’s dropping an all rnb album (gang signs vibes) and he’s done rapping. Montana is done so I can’t see them outright scrapping it, but it will probably be his last project
