Song titles in the parenthesis and the names are the people he samples on the track
How y’all feeling bout AL3 after a couple weeks?

I’m recording both sides rn but I’m not gonna lie, I’m not happy about the quality with the crackles. I’ll def share what I get though and hopefully I can izotope rx it sometime soon
Any update on the recording of that vinyl? I've been dying to hear the differences between the songs
I'm also trying to collect all the various versions of the album since the deluxe CD has some differences on a few of the tracks as well, so I really don't mind if it sounds a little rough with the popping and crackling

i think deluxe just comes w bonus songs
maybe like 4-5 songs on the vinyl version sound slightly different than cd version (less polished but not necessarily in a bad way)

Gonna try to take my record to my friends crib this weekend he should be able to rip it for me. He can def rip the deluxe cd
Are the cd songs the streaming version or vinyl version? Do we know?
vinyl is al3 (jan - sept)
cd/streaming is more like al3 (jan - oct)

insane

Actually surprised that nobody else has mentioned this yet. Most of the tracks are what we got in the final steaming version but there are definitely a few minor differences throughout the Deluxe CD version of the album. There are a couple samples placed differently in the first few tracks, Delilah is slightly different but closer to what we eventually got than it is to boiler room, the end of Kelly is different and a little more extended (I actually prefer this version of Kelly) and Mustafa is completely different with most of the samples swapped for others.
I’m unsure if these are the same as the vinyl versions of these songs but they’re definitely not what we got in the final release. I’m also positive there’s more little things that I’m forgetting/missing but overall I thought it was really cool to hear the development of some of these tracks.
I’ll work on getting the files pulled off my CD so I can share them here. But if anyone has that vinyl rip I would really love to get my hands on it!

It sounds like it he Deluxe CD may be a combination of some versions from the vinyl and some of the streaming versions.
I know that Delilah and Danielle on vinyl are pretty different to what we got in the final release but on the CD they’re much closer to the final release by my ears.
However, it sounds like both the CD and the vinyl have more differences scattered across the rest of the tracks, I’m just not sure how they line up with each other.
I think I'm gonna prefer the boiler room version of Strong for some reason but i'm hyped for the release still

Honestly man I don’t like how the result turned out at all, but message me if you want

How y’all feeling bout AL3 after a couple weeks?
I’ve been sitting (and doing a lot of walking around the city) with it and I’ve got takes. Generally good things - it’s for sure my aoty and I love it for what it is, but it’s also his weakest project imo and feels like a bit of a step in the wrong direction in some ways. Namely, I love the club-forward tracks, but the balance feels off. By the time you get to Winnie and Mustafa, you’re pretty much on the downswing of the album and there isn’t as much of a rise and fall of energy as there was on AL1 and 2.
This is also a very subjective gripe but I felt like some of the sample usages were less mindful than in previous releases. For ex. the airhorn in Eyelar throws me off every time lmao, and as much as I love Clara it kind of feels like he just mashed various “if you don’t know don’t worry” clips repeatedly for each turnaround. Very niche gripe though to be fair. On a related note, and even though I do love the new motif of “if you don’t know don’t worry” it feels weird to have absolutely zero Carlos on here after he anchored so much of the first two projects.
Those are my qualms, but the positives far outweigh them. Absolutely love these songs, each one ends up popping into my head at different points. The early favorites (Clara, the singles) aren’t getting tiresome and I’m finding myself coming back to Eyelar, Berwyn, Nathan and Mustafa more and more. It’s definitely an album that came at the perfect time for me as I’ve been dealing with the weight of having moved to a new city and learning how to make a home here. Overall, I’m grateful for it.
