this album came out when I was 18, and there couldn’t have been a more perfect time for it. right at the end of my last summer as a kid, moving out of adolescence and into young adulthood. it would become the go to album for every kind of cathartic experience I would have over the next several years. it especially sounds good in the middle of the night when you’re reminiscing on heartbreak, lost friends, and a longing for the simple joys of youth. all with an overwhelming uncertainty on what you want to do with your life that still carries even today. a stark reminder that “we’ll never be those kids again”.
