Honestly this wouldn’t have gotten half the backlash if they streamed it. Buddy Ross and Lorde joining a random kids IG live just to get a glimpse of the set tells you everything. Was arguably the festival’s biggest pull both at the ground and around the web. People were up at ungodly hours only to find out they’d be watching it through an iPhone last minute.

the only thing disappointing to me about the whole thing is that any artist at that level knows what a big deal it is for them to nail it in terms of financing/retaining interest for future projects. so he’s either punching the air, because he just shorted his market cap by half or he did out of pure apathy. all i know is end of the day he put himself in this situation

the narrative so far is that it was aimless and boring, and had no real climax. whatever your personal opinions about it. the mere fact there’s a million page thread debating on its quality probably isn’t a good sign towards how it’ll be remembered
