i know none of them outside gojira crazy how gojira took off, i remember they won a big time award some years ago, can’t recall if it was from a popular french ceremony or some us s***, or maybe just some pitchfork end of the year list but i remember i was like oh okay! maybe i should give them a shot at some point

I saw them open up for Mastodon a few years ago and that’s how I found them, like right before they started to blow up a little bit. I don’t listen to them as much as the others I listed but they’re pretty solid

Deathspell Omega is probably the best one I mentioned but some of their stuff is really brutal black metal. Blut Aus Nord gets heavy but they also get pretty atmospheric and would probably be more accessible.
